use the same cat food, like friskies or something, but feed him different flavors every once in a while.

the same food as who? as another cat? as a dog? as you? generally, no, feed your cat it's own food, cat food, and nothing else. occasionally some human food is ok, like cottage cheese, or tuna. of course if you decide to make your cat's food, you should research it to make sure what is healthy for them on a daily basis.

I'm confused... you can feed your cat the same cat food all you want.. but do not feed them human food.. their digestive system is completely different and they need different nutrients than we do.

if you want to prepare your cat food on your own, you can but you have to be really careful about it. you need to make sure s/he is getting the right stuff to meet his or her nutritional needs. towards the end of my old cat's life, i ended up preparing his meals for him because of specific nutritional needs (done in consolation with his vet and an animal nutritionist) and now I prepare my all of my cat's food. It can be great and super healthy, you just need to do a lot of research first.
