Well I have been exercising through my entire pregnancy (doing prenatal Pilates and walking) and the Pilates definitely help with keeping me quite limber. I have just recently started noticing some mild hip pain and it only really happens when I'm going up stairs. I would maybe try doing some stretch exercises. Or perhaps try using some extra pillows around your hips at night? Also keep in mind that hip pain is very common during pregnancy and sometimes, you might just have to grin and bear it like so many of us do until your baby arrives. You're almost there! Good Luck~

Pain in the hip is actually in the groin area. Many people point to what they think is their hip on the side of their body, but that bony bump on the side is actually the greater trochanter of the femur (part of the leg bone).

True hip pain can be caused by a number of different things:
- arthritis of the joint
- bursitis (inflammation of the sacs of fluid that protect the joint)
- hip fracture
- infection of the bone (osteomyelitis)
- nerve root compression

Normally hip pain is caused in the joins – you might have slept wrong or need some more vitamin B – if it gets worse or persists for more then a few days I would think about seeing a doctor. Also make sure it’s in your hip and not in your appendix or kidneys
