Depending on your state law, many companies will give you your check on the last day, but in California for instance, the company has 72 hours to get a check out to you (it must be mailed within 72 hours, and not in your hand).
Check your local Employment Office for the laws in your state or ask your HR dept what company policy is.

Regardless if you put in a two week notice or not, most employers will pay you when you normally would get paid. Some will and legally can keep your paycheck for up to 2 weeks after your final day.
I suggest if you put in your notice that you ask if they will be sending it out in the mail or if you can come pick it up. Personally, if you've been a good worker, I'd let you pick it up on the normal payday. But if you didn't show up for work, called in sick all the time, showed no respect to me........I'd make you suffer for a few days. Sorry.........the truth though

I also live in CA. My last job I gave my 2 week notice. On my last day I was given a live check for all the days that I've worked plus any unused PTO or Sick time that I have available. As long as you work through the end of your 2 week you should be expecting everything that should be coming to you.

Not likely. You'd probably get it on the regular payday. If you are paid hourly, they couldn't cut the check anyway until they know how many hours you are actually going to work, so couldn't have it for you on your last night. They can't just assume you'll work the hours you are scheduled.

This probably depends on which country you're in. In Canada, no you don't. You get your last paycheck the day you would've gotten it if you had kept working.

Not necessarily - you can request that you receive your paycheck then but some companies will wait until the actual pay date to pay you.

Nope, if you quit on your own free will, no matter what notice you put in, you get paid on your regular payday. You might be able to get it earlier, if your company is nice. But most won't do that.

Not if it isn't payday. Very few companies will cut a check if it isn't payday.
