All languages have some features that are easy and some features that are hard.
Dutch is part of the Germanic language family, and I believe it is considered to be the member of this family that is most closely related to English. So you should be able to find many cognates between English and Dutch when you are trying to learn vocabulary; this should make things easier. However, you will probably have to work at learning how to use the inflectional system such as verb conjugation and case marking in Dutch; those will probably be more difficult.
I think it's great that you want to learn Dutch. Language learning is its own reward.

Dutch is a very difficult language, although related to German and other Anglo-Saxon languages like English (believe it or not), Swedish, Danish and Norwegian, if you want to speak Dutch, you have to study very hard. The best advice I can give you, is to go to Holland and study there, take a course in Dutch, speak with the people there. I´m sure you will learn at least something of the language, but it all depends on yourself and how much you want to try. Good luck!

Learning any language requires discipline and hard work. Dutch is a very difficult language, and a knowledge of French will not help you very much.,
You will be able to learn Dutch, but I think only in a Dutch environment.

I've never found any language easier/harder to learn than others. Of course, English was easiest because I grew up in the U.S., but for foreign languages, I've never noticed much difference.
I speak English, of course, as well as some Spanish, a little French, a little Italian, and a little Japanese. None of them were really any different, in terms of learning ease.
