My parents are divorced and recently(September) he told me he didn't want anything to do with me so he could have a normal dating life. I happily agreed and have been living with my mom since. Now he wants to make up, but I'm not willing because of the abusive behavior he has subjected me to for 4 years. When my parents got divorced i was 10 and he told me if i said anyhting bad about him to the courts they wouldnt let me see him again, my mom would take his money which would force him to move out of state. That's illegal, but I was ten so I fell for it. My sister doesn't have a relationship with him either but she always spends time with his family on thanksgiving. He won't let me unless we "fix" things. What do I do? BTW getting back together isnt an option, he emotionally and physically abused me, my mom, and my sister.

After all the manipulating and abusing your father has done, do you even want to spend Thanksgiving with him? I am all for reconciling and having a relationship with both parents, but he seems to be way off base. He is manipulating you yet again in order for you to be with him. Spend the day with your mom. I'm sure she won't turn it into a bargaining chip like he has.

Go on with your life. If he wants to be that selfish then he doesn't really want you in his life. You are should enjoy the Thanksgiving with your mom and sister.
