On a 9-hour flight, you should have two meals and two movies. I also take two magazines and/or paperback books, as well as word puzzles or brain teasers. If you have someone with you, play card games or a board game (there are travel versions of chess, checkers and other games). I sleep as much as I can, and it helps to have ear plugs and an eye cover so you are more comfortable. Sometimes I take work on the plane, but usually the other stuff keeps me occupied. It's over before you know it.

The movie usually stinks so you don't want to rely on that. LOL
The people are tired and anxious so you don't need to look for them for your entertainment also, unless your fortunate like us we always ride with great company.
Tire yourself good before the flight and sleep that is the best option. If you can that is.
Looking outside doesn't help either things don't move very fast from when your looking down.
In 9 hrs you can read allot of hadith, and if you can pray that your trip is successful and if not pray they have a life vest! You can do like the others keep bothering the staff for all kinds of unnecessary demands and requests, but that is your choice as a passenger I suppose.

9, your complaining about 9, I was 22, O'Hara (Chicago) to Seoul, now that sucked.
Talk to the person your sitting next to, don't get aggravated with them, your stuck next to them for a while, if she's cute, mile high club!!!
bring a DVD player, once airborne you can watch a few movies, Laptops too do great thing, bring your own headphones so you can watch whatever crappy movie they're showing, don't forget to sleep too, helps prevent Jet Lag.
Don't miss the meal, airline food sucks, but still not eating will do you more harm then good, always take every drink they offer too.
Oh and stretch about every 4 hours.

For reading get a good collection of short stories. That way if you're not really getting into the plot you can skip to the next one. Don't rely on electronic devices, you only have so much battery time!
I buy a bunch of magazines at the airport, things I may not normally read. Robb Report is fun, it's all about lifestyle for really rich people, humorous to read while in coach! (and if you are in first class you will fit right in!)

You could bring a laptop along and watch movies. Unless the plane has t.v screans on it. You can play cards with the person sitting beside you. Read a book, etc. Also it is impossable to sleep on a plane.

Put some audio books on your ipod. Then you'll feel like you've read something by the time you arrive!
I listened to some comedy albums on a long trip and ended up with a whole lot of people staring me down as I was laughing out loud. Hey, it was funny!

Got your seat already picked?
If not, get a seat just behind the bulkhead (economy class); gives you more legroom (I flew to Hawaii/10 hrs. & wished somebody had told me this.)
If you take a laptop, make sure you don't have the wi-fi engaged; windows default settings may join an 'ad hoc' network of others with lappers, and you'll get all kinds of garbage some evil.

Join the mile high club, then that leaves 8 hours and 57 minutes, so you can get plenty of sleep or watch three long films
