The bible teaches that the human race has pain and suffering because God has willed it so. Adam and Eve, being the first humans created disobeyed God by eating fruit from the tree of knowledge. For this, God punished them. But why is the entire human race being punished along with Adam and Eve, the guilty ones? I don't think its fair to pass judgement for a crime on anyone else but the offender. For example, let's you wake up one day, and find out you're on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted List because your great-great-grandfather killed a man in a bar fight over a century ago. Wouldn't that confuse you? Wouldn't that OUTRAGE you? You didn't do anything yet you get punished. That my friends, is not justice. So how can punishment of the entire human race for what Adam and Eve did justified? What say you?

Actually, we don't. According to the OT Scriptures, we can only be responsible for our own transgressions and not those of our fathers, as it is written.

It's a false teaching that establishes the doctrine of "original sin" that was invented by the RC Church. That said, it provides the portal to justify "infant baptism" as part of its tradition... meaning, an endless stream of new converts required of every parent throughout the generations to come.

Other churches --Protestant denominations-- left the Mother Church but continued such doctrine of "original sin" that would likewise ensure memberships through baptisms among the descendants of its own faithful.

Peace be with you.

Many people have asked the question: “Why am I being punished for what Adam did?”

Because if you were in that circumstance, you would have done the same thing. God could have killed them and started over, but the results would have been the same. How do I know? Because every single person since then has sinned; Cain killed Abel and keep going right on down the line (Romans 3:10, 23); the only exception is Jesus Christ. And so God let Adam simply represent mankind (Romans 5:12).

This planet has been subject to suffering as a consequence of man’s sin. God cursed it, but sin is responsible. When we suffer, it ought to be a sober reminder of how terrible sin is. We all choose to sin and see the results of what sin did to the earth every day. Instead of blaming God, we need to be saying, “Wretched man that I am!”

Forgive those who sinned - So you have to forgive Adam and Eve. Next it is up to you to make your own relationship with God and make it better than that of Adam and Eve - No, you won't be perfect and God does not expect that, but the simple fact that you are trying to do those things of God will make all the difference when it comes to your relationship with God.

We are punished because God stated so. Because Eve made a choice and that choice was not pleasing to God. So God made a choice. Remember God also gave Adam and Eve a warning too.

Ryan.
I understand your reasoning. I struggle with my faith. And I am no biblical scholar.
Eating from the tree of knowledge is an allegory, from the Christian Bible, meant to explain the loss of innocence. The Christian religions erase original sin with Baptism. Even Christ was Baptized by John. Then, Christ died for all sins.
Humanity is not, by any stretch, suffering for the sins of Adam and Eve.
Then, there is that "suffering the pain of child birth" addendum. That one has stuck. Though I, quite honestly, don't see how that could've ever been painless. At any rate, no man (that includes you) ever has to suffer that and women continue to overcome that.
I sure hope someone gives you a really good answer. I'll be checking for that.
C. :)!!

B/c it's the punishment of sin. Adam and Eve disobeyed God and by that, God knew that the children of Adam and Eve could not be perfect. What right do I have to be angry with God cause He did that? It's for our right and benefit that we may grow stronger in Him. It is said in the Bible that we all fall short of the glory of God. God knew way before He even created this earth and do you think He wanted this to happen? Probably not but He did let it happen. It happen for a reason and God has a plan for each and every one of us.

You think you've been perfect your whole life? You think if you'd been in Adam & Eve's shoes you would have been any different? Was Adam's sin the only sin that has happened since the beginning of mankind? No, this fallen world is full of sins committed by all of us every day. The pain and suffering we experience is the consequences of our own sins and others that are ongoing, not just one a long time ago.
Let's go back to the example you gave of your great-great-grandfather. If he killed somebody in a bar fight, chances are that sin WOULD have rippled through his family and down through history and you would have been affected/punished for it in some way--maybe he got sent to prison and his family was poor, or the family name was tarnished, or his descendants had to move to make a fresh start, or his kids were ostracized in the community....use your imagination. Things like that have happened to individuals, families, nations throughout history. It's not fair, but it's reality and it's not God's fault but the person who originally committed the sin and Satan for tempting him/her. I know this is oversimplifying things, and some of the details of how God and Satan work in the world are beyond our comprehension and won't be revealed to us in this life. Sometimes God allows trials and tribulations on His children not because of sin, but that He might be glorified, and so that they can grow in their faith. We aren't put here for our own enjoyment and pleasure, but to serve Him. Just knowing that puts it in perspective for me and helps me accept the bad with the good.
The Bible says our righteousnesses are as filthy rags before God, so even at our best, we are vile in His sight. One day those who have trusted Jesus to save them through grace will have the opportunity to live in a perfect world without sin, but until then, God is preparing us for that day by allowing us to have the free will to choose to love and serve Him or reject Him. If you want to be mad at somebody for getting the world cursed, blame Satan, not God.
You're right it's not justice--it is amazing mercy and grace. God made a way for us to get back to Him when we were separated from Him by the fall of Adam.

Read on until you get to the part about a man called Jesus who changed the story of Adam and Eve. Those who have ears let him hear.

I don't really feel like I'm suffering all that badly. Besides, if you beleive that the bible teaches that we're suffering from Adam and Eve's transgression, then you must also beleive that we are saved by Christ's sacrifice. Kinda balances out any suffering, wouldn't you think?

I am not caucasian. I have no part of Adam's seeds or sperms to be a little more truthful. Therefore if he sinned and all his sperms were cursed, I have no part.

Therefore I am unbiased and here's my answer.

Don't say all, as we discussed, I am not a part of Adam, but am a part of humanity you could say. (Man in humanity is gender biased).

Therefore, I don't have pain and suffering as a human (again, that word). I do suffer the consequences of the Adam and Eve race, when it comes to their inventions and globalization. (This is not disassociation as psychologists would call it, as it is true that that race caused these consequences).

Also, that's just my uninvolvement in this scenario. Now I will tell you how Adam and Eve's Creator is respectfully partial in my view as a creator to them.
First he cursed Eve to travail of childbirth. Then he possibly redeems one travail of Eve's women when he impregnated Mariam. If she was created by this God, and so was Yeshua, is Yeshua not Mariam's like-brother? But also, by some definitions Yeshua is his own very heavenly father (apart from his earthly step father) and himself as well as some holy spirited power of both. So if God is a part of Yeshua more than just being his biological father, then God came to earth through his own creation's womb (Maiam). Either her childbirth of him regardless of his relationship to her was easier, and suddenly all Eve's women were given this redemption from childbirth travail, or it remained bad for Eve's women, and being that it was her brother-and creator, he further ruined Mariam 'and' Eve's womens' minds by being born like this. Therefore they created psychology for these women. And childbirth medicine.
I don't see any sign of this God forgiving Eve's line of women, except in the possibility of childbirthing, but then again not when their minds have to accept and love their creator who birthed himself through his creation thus ruining her mind and all Eve's womens' descendents.
I don't think the advent of medicines either for disorders or childbirth helped solve the problem, as they are just bandaids to what is said about their race.

And no I don't use their medicinces. I am a different people.
But good luck in understanding this!

Their sin caused them to be imperfect and has multiplied over time and generations to our sin nature....once you sin, you can not go back to being sinless nor can your offspring....in the smallest of details, they are not perfect. God could have done many things like destroying them and starting with another Adam and Eve but they could have sinned also. Once it did happen, God had a plan of salvation and a great gift of love for us. We can be truly thankful that Jesus, the perfect sacrifice, died for our sins and paid the full price for our redemption and salvation from eternal hell. We are all sinners and deserving of it in God's Holy judgement. He is risen and has conquered death for us all.
