Do you know why they left? Did they want you to do something that was against your principles or that you didn't like or want to do? Did this person just take advantage of you? If so, I would let them go. You don't need them for that. Focus on the important stuff in life, what ever that is.
Do you think it might be your fault? Did you hurt them in some way? Break a promise? Maybe say sorry.
Is this the first time this person left? If so, if they mean something to you, a small chase could be OK.

yeah, but not to the point that its like go **** yourself. if u want the person back just act like you are friends again and the person will realize what they had with you.
