The architects of Christianity have been fine tuning it for more than 1,500 years to keep the fish on the hook. It's ironic that a fish is one of their favorite icons. The precepts of the religion are absurd and contradictory but cunningly promoted.

May I propose an alternative viewpoint for your consideration? You repeatedly make the statement that Christians tend to come from more modernized, educated societies. Has it ever occurred to you that certain societies are more advanced and educated BECAUSE they were once Christian? Is it difficult for you to see that there's a connection there?
Your statement that "All this knowledge and education has the power to easily counter any of the Christian beliefs" only tells me how little you understand about Christian beliefs. I have engaged in prolonged debates with non-Christians and based on that experience I can tell you that my opponents did not have an easy time countering the Christian arguments. Far from it. If you think it's "easy" to do so, you must not have ever encountered a worthy Christian opponent. Feel free to give me a try by e-mail if you want.

They are being duped by the lure of a heaven after death, and the way they get their is through a self proclaimed Christian idea that has all the answers. Tricked, no, they do so willingly. Most of them can't wait for an end time, they would jump into a burning pit if they were told to do so by their holier than thou pastors. They would give up everything they had and give it all to their churches to be saved and to get to the rapture.
Modern Christians? They want everyone to believe in a book that is nothing more than myths that have been retold and changed for the past 2000 years. What is modern in that?
Keep your children away from the lies and fairy tales from the holier than thou churches. Tell them the truth. Fill their little heads with truth, not mystical beings that float in the clouds, than burn and torture the dead. Tell them the bible is a bunch of stories that are no more than that. Teach them that their is no mythical being that is watching them and reading their minds, teach them to be responsible and respect their fellow man. Teach them to take care of this planet and all the inhabitants that are on it - along with animals, plants and the like. Those are truly morals.

The Lord, Our Savior Jesus Christ, has blessed ALL His people with many things, especially His Christians and their children. We are a generation that has inherited blessings through God's Mercy and through the obedience of our deceased relatives. We need to be people of thankfulness and to acknowledge where our blessings have come from. We are called, to do our duty and pass down the knowledge and miracles of Jesus Christ and make them known to the next generation.
The answer to your question is NO. No one will be able to ever prevent the power and miracles, knowledge, goodness, and mercy of Jesus Christ being passed on down to our children and our chlildren's children. Many people and nations have tried for the last 2000 years and have been unsuccesful. If Christianity was man made we would have destroyed it ourself by now. This proves that it is only in existence because of Divine Providence, and the "Gates of Hell shall not prevail against it." Satan will alwaysTRY to continue to extinguish the flames of the Holy Spirit, and The flames of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus will always triumph with the help of the intercession of all the angels, Saints and Holy Souls ini purgatory, especially with the loving maternal direction of The Blessed Mother leading us closer to her Son in the Most Holy Trinity. She guards her children from spiritual harm.

Yes, they are tricked, initially. After they are tricked into spending a lot of time "studying" the bible, they then become too prideful to admit they were deceived. By that time they have also made friends and rejected non-believing old friends. It's a trap at first, but then it becomes more like a drug. People don't want to be vaccinated from dope. Ignorance is bliss! Which is why they have traditionally been against almost all new discoveries. Round Earth, Sun centered universe, Evolution etc etc etc.

In point of fact we immunize children against critical examination of the tenets of majoritarian religion in all cultures by indoctrinating them before they have the critical thinking skills and intellectual tools to rationally examine the beliefs they conditioned to accept without question.
Christians can demonstrate this for themselves if they are willing. Any Christian on here who was telling you that you need Jesus was likely not exposed to other religions with which to compare their own until they were nearly adults, and even then their exposure was likely minimal. Yet on all these pages you can find Christians who readily mock the notion that Gabriel appeared to Mohamed as nonsense, but who accept as perfectly normal the angelic appearance to Mary. Christians mock the notion of Mohamed flying around on Pegasus, but talking snakes, jackasses and burning bushes seem normal to them because they were conditioned not to question such transparent nonsense before their critical faculties developed. They can vehemently defend nonsense like the Trinity and resurrection while mocking similar notions in Hinduism.
This is not unique to Christianity. I have spent the last week getting emails from a Moslem fundamentalist who has the same blind spots in reverse because of his childhood conditioning. So you could say they are all victims of child abuse, but I believe once you are an adult its your task to re-examine the indoctrination of your culture in the light of scientific reason, but few even pretend to do so.

The question you ask is a two edged sword.
No matter how advance or 'modern' the society is.
Any type of belief or idea, when it's in Christianity, atheism or in
science, could be a devastating, imprisoning virus.
But, such systems also help advance such knowledge and understanding.
Yet, no matter how 'modern' society is, humanity is still plagued with the same problems it always has since the dawn of time.
Why?

For better or for worse, Christianity has shaped western society. The first british settlers in the US were Christians escaping religious persecution. Government officials for the most part are still sworn into office on the Bible. Christian values pervade western society and until society can adopt another universally acceptable set of values that are not based on Biblical teachings Christianity will persist.

... actually you sound like you should read the Dawkins Delusion by Alistar McGrath. Christian seek the truth and have found it! The delusion is obviously on the part of those that think of a belief system as a virus and think that atheism is a positive influence on society. Just take a look at the positive influence of men like Stalin, Mao or Pol Pot, all anti Christian atheists.
Then I look at the influence of Christians such as Mother Theresa, The founders of World Vision, Compassion , Christian Children's fund, hospitals, free clinics etc. If it is a delusion then the whole world needs it! Christianity is no delusion though it is a fact and you will stand and face judgment for your decisions.

The FEAR of death and or hell is alive and well; the peasants keep substituting scientifically verifiable facts with Dark Ages' faith and superstition.
In one of his earlier books Richard Dawkins coined the word 'meme' for the all pervasive virus that infects its way through the generations.
