Several times a day use resistance against the sides, front and back of your head with your hand (for about a count of 30 seconds in each direction at a time), plus over the counter pain reliever like Advil/Motrin. Avoid holding a phone to your ear for the duration as you'll tend to crane your neck when doing so. It can take 2-4 weeks to get over a strained neck.

Yes you can. It happens more frequently as you age. Apply heat to it several times a day for the first 2-3 days and then ice it several times a day if it continues.
If it isn't better in a week, see a Doctor of Osteopathy or a Chiropractor and they can help get it back in place.

FOR SURE. Get in a new or bad position you are stretching muscle in new places and they complain about it. And it could take several days for it to sooth.
