Lets say a women is married to a man, and the man dies. And lets say another man is married to a women, and the woman dies. After the deaths, the living woman and living man meet and get married. All four are devout Christians (I am using Christianity, but you can replace this with whatever you want) and lead the life that theoretically gets them into heaven.
Who are they married to when they go to heaven? Is it a foursome? Do they stick with their original marriage?
What are your thoughts? I am not looking for a "right" answer from a particular religion, but what you all personally think.

There is no marriage in heaven.
Marriage at the Resurrection
23That same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question. 24"Teacher," they said, "Moses told us that if a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and have children for him. 25Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother. 26The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. 27Finally, the woman died. 28Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?"
29Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 31But about the resurrection of the dead—have you not read what God said to you, 32'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'[a]? He is not the God of the dead but of the living."
33When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.

If the prerequisite for entering into heaven is what the Christians say this is, which you've self assurance interior the Christian dogma with a view to get in, no remember how stable you're as a guy or woman, then i may be out. Who gets in? A) a mass assassin, rapist, intercourse criminal who shows Jesus collectively as he's approximately to be performed for his crimes, asks for forgiveness, and dies. B) a guy or woman who made a ethical and psychological option to maintain on with a non secular direction that grew to become into not Christianity, who has heard of the Christian teachings, yet who additionally lives an exceedingly loving and giving existence, a guy or woman who began orphanages in Zimbabwe, who gave 1000's of greenbacks to charities to feed the undesirable and cope with illnesses, a guy or woman who went to Darfur and held the palms of the death human beings, a guy or woman who by no potential harmed yet somebody else, who grew to become into continually very type and lived by potential of the golden rule. Which one gets into heaven? in accordance to Christianity, this is the 1st guy, authentic? Who desires to circulate to a heaven it quite is administered by potential of such an unfair and immoral ruler?

I believe heaven is a reality that does not encompass the understandings we have now. Scripture confines marriage to this earth, once we pass, marriage between two people is not relevant

Jesus answered a similar question. He said, people aren't married in heaven. It is an earthly institution.

I've always wondered this myself especially when regarding step fathers or parents. But then again it does say, "til death do us apart" so I guess once they get to heaven its a whole new ball game.

Marriage is only until death. After that, no vows or bonds hold them together. They can do what the wish with whomever they wish

Presumably you'd have to have your memory wiped so that you wouldn't remember any of that, or have your free will altered so that you don't care. Great thought, huh? Crazy Christers!
