My mom just told me of a story of how an 8th grader was suspended for hugging a couple of friends at school. I realize that this sort of thing happens, where students are suspended for such stupid things, claiming it's a form of sexual harrassment.
(Funny thing was is that she was wearing a "Hugs Not Drugs" t-shirt!)

However, it's OKAY to dish out BIRTH CONTROL to these same students. Not allowed to hug, no, that's wrong... but here, have a condom, have the pill.

What has happened to this world?

I have not heard this story yet. I try to stay away from the news as much as possible. I know teachers are usually not allowed to hug the students because of the possibility that it could be take the wrong way, but if it was other students and they didn't have a problem with it, they should leave it alone.

Parents and taxpayers turned over their responsibilities to bureaucratic morons long ago and don't have the guts to take back control.

There was an episode of "King of the Hill" where the school History text book had NO references to history. The school board claimed it was because some people found the references offensive. When asked who those people were, the board said, "Well, mostly lawyers." Homer Simpson would say "It's funny because it's true." Only not so funny.

its called beurocracy gone mad, yes its sad unfortunately.
surely hugs are the new wave of friendly love and compassion these young people want to demonstrate and it feels good!
then comes along the corporate heads what ever that may be to stop at any cost a new behaviour the wider community may be demonstrating because its a threat to the corporations control over them. if they lose control the mass 's will over power them. Then at the same token they use red tape to control, bribe, into a false sense of security and throw out BC pills and condoms to show that they care for your welfare?? thats major hypocracy!

That is just silly!!!! And yes, pathetic. I totally agree. But this world has gone down the toilet. Im so scared to raise my little one, not knowing how bad its going to get over the next couple yrs. I hope that the parents fight back on this, and say how silly it is.
