I I am so sick of people’s sanctimonious “I don’t drink because it kills” and “Why do people drink when it is so bad for you” questions and answers.

1. Used in moderation it is good for you!
2. Drinking has been the center of social and religious life for over 7,000 years.
3. I personal think it tastes good!

OK, I just added the third one for the hell of it. But seriously... If you don’t drink and you think it is evil then why are you in the Beer/Wine/Spirits section in the first place! Get down off you high horse and learn some facts before you pass judgment. I know I’m passing judgment by posting this.

Anyway, what are your opinions on this?

Smelley:

My current doctor and the one before him said that drinking in moderation is fine. It helps lower blood pressure and can even provide vitamins and fiber.

If not drinking often, but getting messy when you do counts then I'm a sensible drinker. I like drinking, I like people who drink. At a party the people who are having a good time are the ones with a drink in thier hand. When the night takes off, the non drinkers are left sitting at a table being dry shites. It's always been the case.

Just don't drive home and try not to do anything stupid.

I'll also drink a glass or two of wine if I'm watching a movie with a girl. It's nice, and it's like eating a mint, only it's wine.

Ok heres the scoop. I've been up since 3:45 am. Had a very stressful day at work came home, mixed a drink, lit a cig and am on the computer. My blood pressure has lowered several points I'm more relaxed. I'll probably only have one drink, fix supper, wash acouple of loads of clothes, take a bath and go to bed. I think No. 3 should be No. 1 . Yes everyone has their opinion and If you don't drink then you're answering the wrong question! Just my opinion!!! ( oh, decided maybe another drink while I'm in the tub with the door locked! How refreshing does that sound?!)

I love to drink. When I do drink I drink a little to much, but hey its all for fun:) I think that some poeple do not drink because they look at it as an addiction, which it could lead to that. Some people don't like the way it makes them feel, the way it makes them do things they regret or they just don't like the environment alcohol brings. I think that we should respect that. Alcohol being evil is true...it sometimes can be. It requires spending money, sometimes poeple cheat, they do mean things to others. I don't understand why you are getting so upset because you may not enjoy other things that other people feel so strongly about. Just keep drinking...have fun and be safe and **** what other people think!!!

Some people can't or shouldn't drink . Many Asians are allergic to alcohol But if your Irish , you need to drink as much as possible . (just kidding)

I've seen many old timers in their 90's that have a daily habit of drinking strong ale or Scotch every evening . The alcohol seems to stabilize the central nervous system which is the core to much of our bodily functions .

You're so funny!! I like your post!!!

I myself don't drint often, (because alcohol tends to make my hands & body feel stiff & achy the next day & I suffer from migrains, so my neurologist told me to avoid if possible)...

...BUT do like a few glasses of "something" when I go out to eat at a nice restaurant. It can sooo make the outing more enjoyable... as long as I don't get too s*** faced! (remembering the night the next day is always a plus!) lol

You have a good point, if they are against drinking alcohol, why are they in this category. You have some valid points. Drinking alcohol is a choice and we all have choices.

<~~ Growling if you go near my wine! :)

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, and I happen to agree with you. It is your business if you like to have a drink, and mine when I have one.
