Could it actually be proven in court that the planet is warming? Or could it possibly be a statistical fluctuation in global temps? Why do we still have winter ? If there really was global warming, how do you explain the Dustbowl Era? Could it possibly be that the earth is constantly warming and cooling? Remember the Ice Age? I feel that the Democrats are making this as much of an issue as Ethics was when Hillary and Bill were in office. Remember, the earth has been warming and cooling for a very long time. It is not any evil plot by the Evil, nasty, mean, cold hearted Republicans, to destroy the planet. Could Mr. Gore back up any of his statements in a court of law? Can they be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt?

No it can't. This is why when you hear people talking about "global warming", they use qualifiers like "probably", "likely", "could", "may".

And they can't back their beliefs with objective data. The science is very subjective. This is why believers depend on a "consensus". If a scientist doesn't agree with the premise that "global warming" is man made, then you just swift boat them by saying that they take money from the oil corporations in hopes this muzzles all dissenters.

Gore has some missing science but he is an administrator. I have the missing science and I am qualified to represent that in a court of law.

When I say Gore is missing the science, so are the others and that is why the arguments. Yes the earth is naturally cooling and warming, is our interaction in it causing global warming? 100% and beyond the shadow of a doubt.

Funny you should ask. This did go to court.

A "skeptic" in England sued to have the movie banned from schools. He lost, and the movie won.

The judge did find nine minor points that were not completely backed up by science. But the big ones (global warming is real, mostly caused by us, a serious problem, and one we can take action to solve) were upheld as proven science.

I'll give some quotes, but I recommend you read the full decision.

"It is clear that the Defendant (the school board) understandably formed the view that AIT was an outstanding film, and that schools should be enabled to show it to pupils."

"The Film advances four main scientific hypotheses, each of which is very well supported by research published in respected, peer-reviewed journals and accords with the latest conclusions of the IPCC:

(1) global average temperatures have been rising significantly over the past half century and are likely to continue to rise ("climate change");

(2) climate change is mainly attributable to man-made emissions of carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide ("greenhouse gases");

(3) climate change will, if unchecked, have significant adverse effects on the world and its populations; and

(4) there are measures which individuals and governments can take which will help to reduce climate change or mitigate its effects.

These propositions, Mr Chamberlain submits (and I accept), are supported by a vast quantity of research published in peer-reviewed journals worldwide and by the great majority of the world's climate scientists."

This is not a Democratic thing, it's a science thing. Newt Gingrich and the New Republic are icons of conservativism.

"Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"

"National Review published a cover story this past week calling on conservatives to shake off denial and get into the climate policy debate"

Yes. It's the only logical reason for all these natural disasters, and this crazy weather!!!! Yeah, the ice age happened. And it led to the extinction of a lot of species, and the same thing is going to happen to us, only instead of freezing to death, we're going to burn up! What an 'Inconvient Truth.' And yes, it could be a 'statistical fluctuation of global temps' and even if it is, it wouldn't be like we are recycling, preserving energy, and making other attempts to stop global warming for nothing. These things still need to be done to help preserve the Earth. The Earth, on which we live. On which we need to survive. So unless everybody wants to destroy the world, i suggest you help out a little, weather or not you believe in global warming because we still need to recycle and stop pollution, etc. to keep the Earth healthy. Or else its not going to last.

In my opinion the real question is can many of the parties which happen to be Republicans (including George W Bush) honestly hold up in court after funding so much bad science, letting polluting coorporations rewrite energy policy (Bush Cheny energy policy), flat out denying global warming, and repressing, modifying information when it does not fit into their agenda in regards to global warming..

as it says above me, this is not within two political parties, or even a country, its a science thing and a GLOBAL thing.

It's really nothing to worry about. Considering the bacteria like exponential growth in the human population and the rise of totalitarian regimes around the world (starting with the US) we will all most likely die out as a result of disease/starvation/war before the floods come.
