A born again Christian is someone who has admitted Christ as their Lord and Saviour and starts a relationship with God and Jesus. A Catholic is a type of Christian, it's just a denomination. Catholics tend to worship saints (even though these are considered idols) and sometimes pray to the Virgin Mary instead of Jesus (who according to the Bible is the only Mediator) They also repeat prayers instead of praying out of what they feel. Not all Catholics do these things but quite a bit do. Catholicism is a religion where as "non denominational" Christianity stresses a relationship with God not tradition...

All real Christians whether they are Catholic or not are spiritually born again.

Catholics are spiritually born again (and again and again) through:
+ Belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior
+ Living the Gospel to the best of our ability
+ Daily rededicating ourselves to Jesus Christ
+ Receiving new life in Baptism
+ The forgiveness of sins through the Sacrament of Reconciliation
+ The infusion of the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands in Confirmation
+ Taking the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ into our bodies through the Eucharist (Holy Communion)
+ Even during the penitential season of Lent

These are a few ways that Catholics are spiritually born again. We usually just don't use those words.

With love in Christ.

A "born again Christian" is a Christian who seeks the truth and the truth is revealed to that person by the Almighty God, the creator of this universe and is in unison with this universe and not in conflict by following His Laws for this universe.

A Born again Christian is a saved soul that has believed that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross and rose again. Believing this in this life is the only way to go to heaven and not go to eternal hell.

Catholic is different. They often have a false gospel of works that leads to eternal hell (Galatians 1).

a born again Christian is someone who has believed and then recieved Holy Baptism. many new age Christians will tell you Baptism isn't required, but for 1700 yrs it was. John Calvin invented the idea of born again by faith alone. Baptism is born again. no I am not saying those unbaptized are lost. God alone knows, but Baptism is also in obedience to the teachings of Jesus Christ. a catholic is one who follows the ancient faith started by Jesus. catholics base their teachings around Holy Scripture, and Holy Tradition. catholics practice the 7 sacraments established by Jesus in the New Testament. sacrament is a title given to religious rituals a Christian does out of good faith. the term simply means, an outward sign of an inner spiritual grace. catholic rite churches include: Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, Lutheran, Byzantine, and Old Catholic.

The term "born again" comes from the mouth of Jesus: "no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again: (John 3:3). He qualifies this with the terms "born of water and the Spirit". Then he commands "You must be born again."

So for a person to be a Christian or follower of Christ, he or she must be "born again". But sadly there are "Christians" who are not born again.

One is Born Again in Water Baptism.

Many non-Catholic Christians don't see it that way, however:

John 1:32 - when Jesus was baptized, He was baptized in the water and the Spirit, which descended upon Him in the form of a dove. The Holy Spirit and water are required for baptism. Also, Jesus’ baptism was not the Christian baptism He later instituted. Jesus’ baptism was instead a royal anointing of the Son of David (Jesus) conferred by a Levite (John the Baptist) to reveal Christ to Israel, as it was foreshadowed in 1 Kings 1:39 when the Son of David (Solomon) was anointed by the Levitical priest Zadok. See John 1:31; cf. Matt. 3:16; Mark 1:9; Luke 3:21.

John 3:3,5 - Jesus says, "Truly, truly, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." When Jesus said "water and the Spirit," He was referring to baptism (which requires the use of water, and the work of the Spirit).

John 3:22 - after teaching on baptism, John says Jesus and the disciples did what? They went into Judea where the disciples baptized. Jesus' teaching about being reborn by water and the Spirit is in the context of baptism.

John 4:1 - here is another reference to baptism which naturally flows from Jesus' baptismal teaching in John 3:3-5.

Acts 8:36 – the eunuch recognizes the necessity of water for his baptism. Water and baptism are never separated in the Scriptures.

Acts 10:47 - Peter says "can anyone forbid water for baptizing these people..?" The Bible always links water and baptism.

Acts 22:16 – Ananias tells Saul, “arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins.” The “washing away” refers to water baptism.

Titus 3:5-6 – Paul writes about the “washing of regeneration,” which is “poured out on us” in reference to water baptism. “Washing” (loutron) generally refers to a ritual washing with water.

Heb. 10:22 – the author is also writing about water baptism in this verse. “Having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” Our bodies are washed with pure water in water baptism.

2 Kings 5:14 - Naaman dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, and his flesh was restored like that of a child. This foreshadows the regenerative function of baptism, by water and the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 44:3 - the Lord pours out His water and His Spirit. Water and the Spirit are linked to baptism. The Bible never separates them.

Ezek. 36:25-27 - the Lord promises He will sprinkle us with water to cleanse us from sin and give us a new heart and spirit. Paul refers to this verse in Heb. 10:22. The teaching of Ezekiel foreshadows the salvific nature of Christian baptism instituted by Jesus and taught in John 3:5, Titus 3:5, 1 Peter 3:21 and Acts 22:16.

Simply put, born again is when one has rejected the man God did not create and now sees himself in spiritual light; born again in Truth.

a born again PERSON is one that has had their sins washed away by the blood of Jesus

we cannot pay for our own sins so Jesus died on the cross to pay the debt. If you try to get to heaven by any other means your will fail.
