Turn it up-side down first?

2007-11-07 09:13:07 · answer #1 · answered by Coach McGuirk 6 · 0 0

I got one out what I did was remove all the liquid and let it dry out. Then I turned the bottle upside down and lightly bumped it
on a soft surface till the small end of the cork went slightly back into the neck. I am a refrigeration man so I have a vacuum pump. What I did was put the end off my vacuum hose on the end of the bottle and wrapped a wet rag around to make a sort of seal and the pump pulled the cork back up into the neck all the way to the point where I could screw in the cork remover and I eased it on out of the bottle.

Get a set of metal BBQ skewers.

Do your best to poke the cork right through the center.

Pull the cork up to the neck of the bottle.

Take another skewer and puncture the cork at an angle, making sure not to go all the way through the cork.

Carefully pull the cork back through the neck.

Hope this helps.

Well, why would you want it out? If you can't pour the wine due to its being in the bottle, just take a straw or other such item, insert it in the bottle to hold the cork back, then pour your vino. But for any other reason, you pretty much have to break the bottle.

If you live in or around Springfield MO I can get it out for you. I have a cork remover that reaches down in the bottle and uses hooks to remove it. Try a wine making shop in your area.

It's hardly worth the bother. Just decant the wine and toss the bottle and cork.
