Are you careful here on Y/As? You know what Im talking about. I try VERY hard to be!!!!!!! This place is full of some dangerous stuff! So how careful are you????? I hope all JWs here take the proper steps to be careful here because I would hate for us to be reading some dangerous stuff here.... I try to skip it all, and I do a lot of blocking. So how careful are you? Sometimes I can't believe the questions that get asked here. Wow! We truly are living in the last days and we are objects of hatred! So I just thought I would ask how careful are you here? Also, have you had any postive experiences from answering here?

When I say I try to skip it... I do my best... but sometimes that doesn't happen....... If I know someone or something is dangerous I DO NOT read it.....There have been times I find my self communcating on here with different ones and then find out later that wow, they were very dangerous! So I do try my best... It is really hard though....... So has anyone had anything positive come out of posting here?

Very great points brothers and sisters! We do have to be so careful!
Sugarpie I liked what you said. "what a sad state of affairs if one were to allow something like the internet to hinder them in their relationship with the Only True God, Jehovah" We do have to be so careful because what if we DID start chatting with these ones THINKING they were honest hearted to find out later they were decieveing (sp?) us. Granted every door we knock on we take that chance but we are encourage to go knocking door to door, not use the internet. Like you, I to have spoken to an Elder about this (my father) and he has not spoken postive about it. He agrees that there are some GREAT questions on here. But something he said was that if they have a good heart, JWs will knock on there door, Jehovah will see to it. Jehovah would never allow them to go without the truth if they were REALLY looking. So he knows I do answer on here, but I do it with EXTREME caution.

My husband is always telling me to be careful also... He tells me that if I am going to post, then fine, but don't go back and look at the responses because once you read apostate words they are in your mind and you can't get rid of them. I try really hard with this! Granted sometimes I do find myself going back reading some, but for the most part I try not to.... I always direct them to the watchtower site... but sometimes I will tell them to let me or other JWs know if they want more info.... I am NOT going to do that anymore though..... I never want to put my relationship with Jehovah on the line.. From here on out Imjust end my post with directing them to the watchtower site. (I do for about 97% of my post anyway, but I am now for 100%) Wonderful answers brothers and sisters...I am glad to see that we are all being careful...You know we are living soooooo close to the end... We have to be so careful!

thanks, your question has given me another opportunity to block other people that want to slander us,and just be critical of Jehovah's Witnesses.
As far as being careful - by all means! We need to exercise extreme caution.
For this reason , I have greatly reduced the time I spend on this site. I had a very interesting talk with a brother concerning this very thing. He helped me to see that the communication here may too often lead the friends astray.
One point of caution: we never know who we may begin conversation with -possibly an apostate. Is that a person we want to communicate with? even if it is by their deception?
what a sad state of affairs if one were to allow something like the internet to hinder them in their relationship with the Only True God, Jehovah
I know that what I have said is nothing new: Like you, i just want us all to keep our eyes wide open and stay alert.

I make sure I don't go to any "sites" other than those listed by ones I have been watching for sometime and recognize as Jehovah's Witnesses. Also, if I begin to read something that just doesn't seem right, I instantly think about the talk we had a few years ago at a convention that was later reprinted in the WT called "Beware of the voice of strangers" It gives excellent reminders for us.
It is important that we use our Bible trained consciences on Y!A, but at the same time we have to remember
1 Corinthians 10:12 "Consequently let him that THINKS he is standing beware that he does not fall." We should never get too sure of ourselves.
I do take breaks away from Y!A occasionally because there are times when it can get a bit discouraging. However, it is also beneficial at times because I can see how my brothers and sisters would reason on certain Bible subjects or give a defense for their faith. And also, it gives me the opportunity to do research on different topics that are of interest to those in the field.

I agree with Puppy Love and Rolando regarding this. Your Pen Pal should be a girl and a sister. The brothers warn us for a reason. Things happen all the time. You have to be extremely careful. Even here on Yahoo, we just do not know if everyone is genuine. In some cases, ones thinking they are giving a witness are NOT. So, we have to pray to Jehovah and really be cautious.

I am carefull. First of I try not to preach on the internet, even though I am zealouse and want to explain when people have questions. Our proper way of preaching is not or should not be on the internet but house to house or other methods the society recomends. Second, I don't answere questions from apostates because we waste our valuable time. I seek people who are truly interested in having bible studies not chats on the net.
Keep up the good work brothers&sisters!

Many of this questioner's reminders seem prudent. At least one other answerer has been consistently following many of these same suggestions for nearly two years, but without "blocking" anyone and reporting only profanity.

(1 Peter 3:15) Sanctify the Christ as Lord in your hearts, always ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of you a reason for the hope in you, but doing so together with a mild temper and deep respect.
Jehovah's Witnesses have always taken advantage of the latest technology to further their ministry, including pioneering efforts with personal record-album players, "talking" motion pictures, wide-area-networks of telephone tie-ins, and nationwide radio broadcasts nearly a century ago. It should be unsurprising that Jehovah's Witnesses have enabled more and more internet-based tools every year.
But none of this should blind Christians to the fact that the internet can be used to waste time and view unwholesome material. As with television, Christians are encouraged to be selective in their choice of virtual association. There is no need to watch an entire program, or read an entire website/"question" to recognize its unwholesomeness.
(1 Corinthians 15:33) Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits.

I am very careful...but sometimes I find myself starting to read some questions or answers that at first glance they sound right, but then as you really read deep into it you see it is coming from Satan...and his apostates...so i immedidately stop reading it and go away from the page. I have blocked a few before...but as i always say you know the truth when you see it. As JW's we use the Bible to answer most if not all our questions...when i see ppl just typing long answers with no scriptures, i don't even look at it because it is most likely not one of my brothers or sisters...and then also their sources...if it's not the Bible, or www.watchtower.org, or www.jw-media.org....or from the watchtower library....peace out!!! have a nice evening

I try to be as careful as I really can I know how dangerous it can be here with all those apostates and everything especially since the society has warned us again and again to be careful.I think that there are alot of people out there who do ask sincere questions and there are those who know nothing about our beliefs. But I always consider my answers carefully and always using scriptures to back me up.even though there are people who can't understand a thing even when it comes directly from the bible but,we know satan will continue to blind them from the bible truths.
just be careful and dont read anything you might think to be apostate material.

I have never blocked or reported anyone. everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no matter how wrong it may be.
My filter is my mind, trained by years of study and prayer to Jehovah. When I read anything, before just accepting it as fact or truth, that filter kicks in. Does it makes sense? Is it from the Bible or man? Does it match up to what I already know to be true? Considering these things prevent the lies from all over from becoming part of my beliefs.

With certain people (who's names have already been mentioned so I don't find it necessary to repeat), I don't even take them seriously. At the most I might post a glib rebuke for the sake of gaining 2 points...
Everybody else, I take it on a case-by-case basis. Usually those with impure motives expose themselves if you give them enuff time.
