Okay, so I met this freshman girl in my history class. I had seen her from the first day of school but it took two months for me to actually talk to her. It was because we were assigned to do a project together. Me, being an idiot, didn't even talk to her even until out of school and when I did, it was on AIM. Now, at first she kinda liked the way I acted on the computer. The first few days she would talk to me in class, but I would get a little bit embarassed and shrug her off. I think she caught me staring at her a few times. One day she said bye to me as we left class, but I pretended not to hear her and shrug it off. 'thus, one night when we talk online, she said she can't be friends with people who talk on the computer and not in person. I try ot chill with her after school, but she said she doesn't want to. She IMs me a few times, which lets me know she's interested. However, she keeps saying she likes outgoing people. How can I redeem myself?

I mean, I definitely don't want to seem like a loser or a stalker for attempting to talk with her too much. I don't even want her to think I need her too much. How do I show this attitude along trying to be friendlly and outgoing?

I would just let her know on AIM that you haven't been yourself lately. Maybe the format setting of the project made you not as comfortable with her as you would have been at a game, concert, restaurant, etc. Just make sure she knows that she hasn't really met the "real" you yet. After you do that, you better make sure you talk to her when you're in person. I think she'll forget the "old" you and concentrate on who you really are.

It's hard to be one way over the computer and act a different way in person. It's just hard to accept that. It makes every situation awkward. You can redeem yourself tomorrow by just talking to her as a friend. Start now before it's too late!

Back off buddy - you're scarring the bejeezes out of her and coming off as way too pushy, and now I bet she's racking her brain to get you to leave her alone.
