tomorrow is my grandmas birthday and im going to call her to tell her happy birthday. she is sick so she cant move. she pretty much sits home watching tv all day alone, so calls like this really make her day. but i dont know what to say. i want it to be a pretty long call where we actually talk. no awkward silences. what should i say?

All good answers above, could be a long conversation!! The key is not to dwell upon yourself, don't make yourself the center of the conversation. You could turn this a bit and tell her about wonderful times you've had with her........was there a special visit? A birthday? Something that she did or say that brought you great happiness? She wants to know if she has been special in your life and how. This may be your last time to tell her how you feel.

Ask her about your mom or dad (don't know which side), or ask about any stories she might have from when she was younger. Maybe, what was the happiest moment in your life? What kind of jobs did she have when she was younger, if any? You should go visit her if you can, I bet she would love that!
