I've bought an item on Amazon.com and was charged a sales tax; the item was shipped to the Washington address. Currently, I live in Washington for college, but am a Oregon resident. Is it possible for me to get an exempt of sales tax?

Since it was shipped to WA and Amazon is HQ'd in WA, then WA tax must be collected. If you would have had the item shipped to OR, when you brought the item into WA, WA use tax would have been due. Either way, you would still end up paying the tax.

unfortunately no...I used to live in washington and my grandma would come up and buy stuff for me using her id to bypass the sales tax...one time she bought me an item they didn't have in stock so it had to be shipped and they wouldn't take sales tax off...I found out then whatever address it's shipped to is where the tax rule applies..shipped to a washington address then you pay tax...the only way you can not is by having it shipped to someone in Oregon and then having them give it to you the next time they see you...

sucks but that's how it works.

No.

Amazon is based in Washington so it is one of the states where Amazon must charge sales tax.

The transaction is considered to have taken place based on where the item is shipped. As you had it shipped to Washington, you must pay the sales tax.

No, if amazon has a facility in Washington and your shipping address is WA, then you'll have to pay sales tax. If it's shipped to OR and amazon doesn't have a physical facility there, you won't pay sales tax.
