i have had 2 abortions due to medical reasons. my pelvis was shattered when i was 16 in a car accident that i was passenger in. i was told i couldnt have childen. well turns out i can get pregnant i just cant bare the child. it would be a life or death situation for the baby as well as myself. i think i am the perfect example of why abortion should be pro choice. nobody can make that decision besides me. Right?

I agree with you 100%. Abortion is a deeply personal issue and nobody has any right to regulate a woman's body, especially idiotic right-wing christian nutjobs who all have their heads so far up each other's assholes its hard to see where one ends and the other begins. Don't worry what other people think about your decision because people are idiots. In the end the only person that matters is you. If down inside you feel that you made the right choice, than you made the right choice.
And to all the people above me who said "why don't you use birth control" or "why don't you get your tubes tied" or those that ***** about how wrong abortion is, you're all idiots.
It isn't your life, you don't know what this woman has been through, and you don't know what kind of thought process went through her mind to have to make the kind of decisions she did, so you have no right to stand up on your moral soapbox and spew out your garbage. Did you even read the f---ing question? Or did you just see the words "i had 2 abortions" and immediately start blowing your mouths off? Did you read the part about how she was told by a medical doctor that she couldn't get pregnant?? Did you read the part about the complications? I'd like to know what you idiots would do if you were in the same situation where your life or that of the fetus could be in danger. Ignorant twats.

Well, I don't think abortion is okay if your using it as a birth control. For instance, I have a one night stand and get pregnant then I have an abortion because I don't want to put the baby up for an adoption and I don't want to keep it. That's ridiculous, if you can't handle the responsibility, you shouldn't have sex. But in your case, where it is actually harmful to you or the baby, then yes! Absolutely! Why bear a child that is either not going to be alive, or not going to have a mother!

But I do have one question. Did you think having a broken pelvis is going to stop you from getting pregnant? You still have a period, right? Which means you go through the menstrual cycle, right? Which means you ovulate! Just be more careful next time!

What a way to start a firestorm! Keeping my own opinions aside, you may want to consider other options for having children. I would STRONGLY advise against another pregnancy, planned or otherwise. You might want to talk to a fertility specialist about surrogacy, though this is an extremely expensive option. Adoption is also expensive, though there are some resources available to help you finance the legal cost. If you're seeking support for the choices you have already made, remember that the past is unalterable and we can only control what we will do in the future. There are many birth control options out there. Choose carefully, because some of them carry risks as well as benefits.

Abortion is a sensitive subject. If you get an abortion because it endangers your life then of course you would want to save yourself because their are other methods in having children...adoption or surrogacy. How long are you able to carry a baby before having an abortion? If you are able to carry to 6-7 months then you could have a C-Section. The baby will be underweight and not fully developed but you would have a better shot at having a baby without harming yourself. As for your decision in having a abortion, yes it is your decision but in knowing that you will have to have an abortion when getting pregnant, why would you continue getting pregnant? Try to get on some form of birth control so you don't have to do through the abortion process again. Good Luck in your decisions!!!

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that. It's so sad that you aren't able to carry a child, it probably makes it even more heartbreaking when people insult being pro-choice. The fact is it is a choice. I've had an abortion, and now I have a 2 week old son. Both were my decision. People can say whatever they want but if they don't agree with abortion then fine, don't have one. There's absolutely no reason to be cruel to others because they have different views. As long as abortion is legal, then people need to respect the woman's decision.

This is a very sensitive issue. Since you can't have children you may want to consider having your tubes tied. If the health of the mother is in jeopardy and aborting the fetus is the only option, then what choice is there? Some people abuse the choice of abortion as opposed to practicing birth control. Second and third term abortions should only be done if the mother is in jeopardy of dying. First trimester abortion should be at the discretion of the woman, however, options should be presented, such as adoption or foster care. Women should have competent health care and various options open to them.

I completely agree. I think that while woman shouldn't use abortion as birth control, if there is a valid reason why the mother should not have the child and it is still quite early in the pregnancy, they should be allowed to have an abortion. I do think that the woman should seriously consider giving the baby up for adoption, and that abortion should be a last resort.

no... you are the perfect example of making excuses for yourself to feel better, and be careless..
Why dont u use protection, like every other responsible woman. If you knew you could get pregnant the first time you did, and chose to do what you did. Then you would never allow your self to be put in that situation again. Perhaps you lack guilt you "think'' you have the right to do so. How do you know? Maybe this is a sign that you were meant to procreate? If you are convinced you cannot bare a child then use protection, and prevent the murder of a baby. It doesnt give you the right to be careless w/ your body and a baby's soul. So no you are WRONG!

So, I can't help but wonder why you are asking this question? to ruffle feathers? You have already had the two abortions so why do you want our opinion? Oh well here is mine, I do NOT see how you could experience an abortion and still be STUPID ENOUGH TO LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN!! Come on. You are trying to get people to take your side on an issue but you did something so selfish by getting pregnant a second time. Maybe you should have your tubes tied so you won't have an excuse to abort anymore children because thats what you are doing...using your medical condition as an excuse.

That's right. That's what it's always about. Personal choice.
No one else has the right to tell any woman what she should do with her body. I personally dont like the idea of abortion, but I also dont like the idea of children being born into a world where their mothers throw them away in the trash or beat them out of frustration. I came to believe a long time ago that people should have to qualify to be parent. We need licenses to drive cars-carry guns and go fishing but anyone can have a baby. Like a life isnt as important as everything else. I'm sorry to hear aobut your accident and I appreciate your question.
