I was wondering if DECON MOUSE KILLER would poison my cats if they ate a mouse who eat DECON.

And if it wont hurt cats will it hurt 4 month old kittens?

Absolutely it can kill a cat that eats a poisoned mouse. 4-month old kittens too.

Depending on the amount of Decon the mouse ate depends on how much gets into your cats system. If it was a large quanity then the cat may get sick or die but if it was just a small amount then I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. It should be the same way with the kittens. It wouldn't be any different unless they were only 6 weeks and under.

I find it hard to believe that you would even need to use a mouse killer in a home with cats! Mice are not stupid...once they encounter a cat they generally don't ever return...neither do their friends and family! I would never use pesticides or glue traps to kill a mouse. They're horribly cruel. While I don't want mice in my home, I have never had to worry about it because I have the most humane mouse control available - 2 cats! Pesticides are very dangerous to you, your cat and especially your kittens. I wouldn't use them. Just let your cats take care of the mice. Trust me, they're not that stupid to keep coming back.

Yes, I know this because of an incident that happened at our work area. The maintenance crew put out rat killer and a squirrel got into it. When we found the dead squirrel, we also found a nest of newborns. One of the workers took them to the vets and he said they must've gotten some through their mothers milk before she died because it was in their systems. He tried to care for them, but they all died due to the poison. So it's very strong. Sorry to say.

I have two cats and they play with the mice!!! They bring them in my bed while I am sleeping and it is horrifying. Not sure if you ever had a live mouse run around on your bed. I will not use Decon because of the cats but have caught a few in old fashioned traps. Keeping decon in my crawl space years ago when I had no animals to worry about kept the mice away. Now that I can't use it I am not sure what to do? My cats are strictly in door. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I'd do a five gallon bucket of water and a few rocks. stick the rocks to the glue trap and drop them in. The other Idea is a cloth bag tied to the tailpipe of your car, unless yuo know where you can get some ether?

Get those plastic re-usable traps. They are really cheap, and you don't have to buy new ones or risk your cat's health.

Yep, if it can kill mice & rats, it can kill cats & dogs.
