Depends on how long it went untreated after the bite. I know someone who darn near lost his hand, the infection spread so fast he had red lines spreading outward from it towards his heart in 2 days, and was hospitalized on heavy antibiotics to stop the blood poisoning.

Cats have a lot of bacteria in their mouth, if you don't wash the wound and the stuff gets into your system then yes, it can be close to life threatening at times.

I am a cat groomer and cat bites are very infectious if your friend didn't get the bite treated then it is possible that he had a really bad infection from the bite . A cat bite can kill you if not treated . If you get bit and notice a red streak coming from the cat bite seek medical attention immediately . Cat bites are no joke . Thats why groomer charge so much to groom a cat . They are high risk !!! lol

If the cat had some disease, like rabies. Ask him why he had to stay in urgent care for two days because of a cat bite!

No unless they haev a disease like rabies or somehting the onle thing it will do is get red adn if deep enough bleed but if he takes care of it as far as keeping it clean and bandage it then he would be fine. If he says it itches it's "cat scratch fever." I think it;s bull poop to.

Cat bites are common whether it's through over enthusiastic play, a new or nervous cat, or trying to wake you up for breakfast! I have never known one to be harmful to a human. You can wash the cut with an anti-bacterial soap for a precaution.

If it is a serious bite, absolutely. If the cat bit near a vein, the person could be pretty hurt and possibly get an infection. My friend tried to clip a cat's nails and it got her wrist. She missed work and was pretty frightened. (If your cat is nuts, best to ask the vet to do this for you).

Well, it could get a massive infection and even lead to the "flesh eating bacteria" that can enter through a wound.

My cat bite me and hard to. My hand blew up and was tight feeling. I didn't go to the doctors for it and I was fine. Just mad about it, lol.

It might hurt a little bit but it shouldn't be that big of a deal. I've gotten bit by a cat, and it was no big deal.
