Have you ever noticed that if you THINK you know what a word means, you don't look up the meaning in a dictionary?
When I first started to study the bible I read:
(Romans 10:15) 15 “How comely are the feet of those who declare good news of good things!”
Now I knew comely meant "homely" or "common", so I always wondered why God would say "How homely are the feet doing his will"?
One day while looking up a different word in the dictionary, my finger hit "comely" so as a lark, I read the definition.
Boy was I suprised:
It really means:
1 : pleasurably conforming to notions of good appearance, suitability, or proportion
2 : having a pleasing appearance : NOT HOMELY or plain
Now all of the a sudden the verse made sense.
Another example of 'thinking' you know the answer:
In spanish a word I thought was exciting and wonderful to say was:
"La Ultima" I loved the way it rolled off my tongue.
Now I know that many english and spanish words that sound the same mean the same.
EXAMPLE: special, especial;
So I knew Ultima meant "Ultimate" Thus I had always wanted to say "Yo quiero la ultima" (I want the ultimate!)
On day while traveling in Mexico, I wanted to buy a watermelon. So stopping at a watermelon stand I got out of my car and bought me a watermelon.
When I got back in the car, my wife asked me; What did you say? ( because she had notice the guys laughing)
So I told her: "Yo quiero la ultima" after she stopped laughing, which is what the guys selling the watermelons had done prior to giving me what turned out to be a very good watermelon.
My wife who is hispanic tells me Ultima doesn't mean ultimate, it means 'the very last one'.
I had unknowingly asked for the very last watermelon.
I have found that many who believe in a trine God, really don't understand the words they are using to explain a concept that isn't in the bible.
The New Encyclopædia Britannica says: “Neither the word Trinity, nor the explicit doctrine as such, appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord’ (Deut. 6:4). . . . The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. . . . By the end of the 4th century . . . the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since.”—(1976), Micropædia, Vol. X, p. 126.
The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: “The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.”—(1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.
In The Encyclopedia Americana we read: “Christianity derived from Judaism and Judaism was strictly Unitarian [believing that God is one person]. The road which led from Jerusalem to Nicea was scarcely a straight one. Fourth century Trinitarianism did not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God; it was, on the contrary, a deviation from this teaching.”—(1956), Vol. XXVII, p. 294L.
Jehovah's Witnesses understand the true meaning of the word "Christian" and use it correctly.
Christendom doesn't have an accurate understanding of what the word really means and therefore applies many 'definitions' that aren't in agreement with the actual meaning of the word.
As to being a Jehovah's Witness, you will have to worship the only true God, Jehovah.
Obey His appointed Messiah and King, his only begotten Son Jesus.
and have a living faith in the ransom of His Son's death.
Since God can not die, Jesus can not be God.

You could never be a Jehovah's Witness and believe in a Triune god. There is only one true God and the JW's pronounce his name as Jehovah. But you are wise to conduct yourself in a manner that reflects biblical standards and most impressive is that you witness to that effect. That is what Jesus instructed us to do.

"Most of Christendom" are not the arbiter of what it means to be a Christian, the Holy Bible is.
Jehovah's Witnesses call ourselves Christians because we follow the Christ. We do not just call Jesus "Lord" and then disobey him. (Matthew 7:21-23)
But you can't call yourself one of Jehovah's Witnesses and be true about it, because "YHVH" is not Triune. To witness to a "triune" YHVH makes you a false witness.

You can do whatever you want , ,it is a free world remember.
But the facts is , ,if you are following a pagan trinity God then you are far removed from correct worship that God approves of.
The result of this is a position where you cannot be favored in Gods sight.
In fact , it places you in the same position as all of the others that are not worshiping God at all.
To serve God properly it must be on the basis of truth.
This means abandoning ALL unclean Satan inspired lies about God.
This includes false teachings like the trinity doctrine , hellfire , and the immortal soul concept to name a few.
As I said in the beginning , you can call yourself by any name that you wish , but your actions prove who you are , and who you 'really' follow.

What is a true Christian? Jesus made it clear. So I would say if you follow Jesus totally you can call yourself a Christian. Now As for a Jehovah's Witness... If you believe in a "Triune" god then, no you can't call yourself one.
They believe that Jehovah God is Jesus Father and that Jesus is God's son. They believe that their salvation is through Jesus, and that the only way that their Sins will ever be forgiven is through the sacrifice of Jesus.

Interestingly, Jehovah's Witnesses acknowledge that every ostensible Christian should be working to be a witness of Jehovah. The fact is, they are not working at it.
Jehovah's Witnesses both witness personally and bear witness to others regarding God's personal name, his majestic personality, and Kingdom purposes. In doing so, they align themselves with Jesus Christ and the prophets.
(Isaiah 43:10) “You are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah
(Isaiah 43:12) So you are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “and I am God.
(Hebrews 12:1-2) Because we have so great a cloud of [Jehovah's] witnesses surrounding us, let us also put off every weight and the sin that easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, as we look intently at the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus
(Revelation 1:5) Jesus Christ, “the Faithful Witness”
(Acts 5:38,39) Do not meddle with these men, but let them alone; (because, if this scheme or this work is from men, it will be overthrown; but if it is from God, YOU will not be able to overthrow them;) otherwise, You may perhaps be found fighters actually against God.”

To be a JW, dont you have to put the Watchtower before the bible? Because when two JW's came to my house the other day, they tried to give me a Watchtower magazine. I asked them if i could actually have a bible instead, and they looked at me like i was crazy, and told me they dont hand out bibles...wierd.
