I should not be complaining apparently [aside from the fact that I have a 16 year old son and people often think that he is my friend!]
But I am just interested in the process behind this. Will I all of a sudden start to look older once I reacher my forties. I just find it bizarre given that I smoke and eat unhealthily [but I'm slim] that I look younger than my age.
BTW this is not my subjective opinion. People mention it all the time. Weird.

NO I DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO SING MY PRAISES. WHY SHOULD I? Stupid points raised by some people! I was asking why this was the case, not "praise be to me!!!!". If people cannot understand the question simply do not answer it!

Ok weirdness. Total JINX!
I was about to post the SAME question. Except Im 36 (nearly 37) and people think I'm 23/24.
Im a bad girl though because I say Im 30 years old (Im in fashion/entertainment and YOU have to seem younger. When I fib and say Im '30' people say oh you don't look that old. lol)
Anyway I've posted my photos on Yahoo several times and not told people my age.
And yahooers can be mean.
The average age was 20-26 for my pics. lol

I have noticed that once people hit 25 and up it varies SOOO greatly how old they look.

It depends on genes/liftestyle/mindset.
Im dating a guy who is 29. Love him, but he looks 35 easily.

Really I think women to say whatever darn age they feel.
Men are NOT held to an ageist standard.

So us chicks are as young as we feel and look.

If you smoke and eat unhealthily, chances are you won't continue to look young for long. Frankly, 37 is not old. Most people in their 30s look young, so this is not anything exceptional. But if you're worried about looking old, you better cut out the smoking RIGHT NOW. Cigarettes cut off oxygen in the body and very soon, you'll start looking haggard and old due to the smoking. Eat as many fruits and veggies as you can to contribute to a young look.

By the time you hit 45, you're going to start changing. Your skin will begin to sag and if you don't exercise and keep your weight down, you'll look much older. After 45, it's harder to keep the poundage off so be mindful about exercising and eating smaller proportions. Do these things now and by the time you reach 45, you'll be in a cycle to eat healthy and you'll be happy with the results.

Lastly, use moisturizer regularly. This helps to keep your facial skin looking soft and smooth.

How you age seems to be mostly genetic. Look at your mum and dad, see how they've aged, then you can decide whether or not it's time to panic!
Generally things like smoking and drinking tend to catch up with people. I can think of a few beautiful people who, once they began ageing, aged badly, even though they really didn't look their age for quite some time. I'm sure you can slow it down by giving up and eating well but I doubt you can reverse all those years. But everybody grows old eventually, so don't tempt fate and bring it on early!

Just be glad you have good genes I guess, I am 30 and have 3 kids and sometimes get looks like I am too young to have 3, I have been told I look like I am 17-19....I don't think you will all of a sudden wake up old looking you will be one of those lucky few that turns 50 and still looks great for their age.

I'm 26 and people think I'm an "old looking 16 year old". I had a young guy once tel me I looked good for my age... The closer I get to 30 the more I love it!

A lot of people that I see from school that were in my year look so old, so I count myself lucky!

Though I don't smoke or sunbathe so that may be why...?

Enjoy it! One day you really will be thankful!

Well I guess you are just lucky and I don't think you will all of a sudden look older in a few years. Some people just look a lot younger then they actually are. Many people pay a lot of money to look younger. Just think when you'll be in your 40s and 50s and people think you are in you 30s. That's great.

Because you're lucky. You probably have good genetics. I once went out with a girl who smoked, drank, took drugs and generally abused her body yet somehow she always looked the picture of health, always had perfect skin etc. Seemed so unfair... Some people are just predisposed to have healthy skin and look youthful. But it might catch up with you some day!

I'm 29 and still get asked for ID in pubs. Bit embarrassing but i'll be loving it when i'm 50 and look years younger. It must be a genetic thing cos my dad is 59 and only looks in his 40's
