How Often A Catholic Needs To Go For Confession?

Bi-weekly or monthly is the suggestion. Of course if you commit a mortal (serious) sin, you should go right away. But it's really up to the individual.

The simple fact is, some people sin more than others. Those who sin more (should) go to Confession more often than those who sin less.

Traditionally, a Catholic (should) go to Confession once a year, usually during the Lenten season which leads up to Easter.

I go about once a month and confess my less serious ( venial) sins if I don't have any mortal sins.

Canon law states that Catholics must go to confession at least once a year but this is the bare minimum you understand,for the sake of our spiritual growth and peace of mind it is better to go once a month.

Whenever you know you're in a state of mortal sin. But I go every week anyway to receive the graces of the sacrament. Its actually quite liberating.

They suggest weekly, but most priests will tell you that you do it when you feel the need.
