I'm quite tall for my age (about 180cm) and I noticed that after 1 month were I wasn't doing any sit/press ups, that I grew taller than poeple I already knew were taller than me before the month. But I'm confused because so many people have told me that press ups and sit ups are very, very good for my growth.

It shouldn't matter. You'll only grow stronger!

Unless you are using steroids, you should not have a problem. Having a regular workout now will help keep it going when you get older. Your growth when not working out was just by chance. Unless your doing this 4hours aday 7 days a week.
Working out 3 times a week is a nice pace. unless you are entering a contest!

You probably just had a growth spurt and it happened when you weren't going the sit/press ups. It's not a case of cause and effect.

exercise is so bad for growth - it will actually cause you to shrink if you keep doing it. Maybe even go blind and grow hair on your palms. Oh, wait, that's the five knuckle shuffle that does that.

Exercising will not stunt your growth. Who ever told you that is a fool.

NO CONNECTION!
Its best to stay in shape while your body is growing. Makes it easier to stay in shape later. But as far as this effecting growth patterns.. Na.. just coincidences make it seem so.
You could hang with weights all day and you'd end up the same height you were destined to be in the first place!
Good for you for staying in condition!

no you wont get a stunted growth doing situps,, likely if you were to heavily lift two times a day that may be bad as the buff muscle would hold back the bone from growing to correct size

exercising does not affect growth. exercise is good for you and helps keep you healthy, but doesn't have a thing to do with your height.
