I was doing my usual sweep of websites eg. Youtube, Hotmail etc. But when i went on to IGN and read one of the articles it said PS3 Firmware Virsion 2.0 is announced!!!! As i am new to the PS3 scene, what does this mean? lol...Oh i also found this.......''Music and photo playlists will also make the cut, allowing you to compile a list of whatever pictures or tunes you want to listen to at any given time.'' Does this mean we can listen to music during playing a game? Eg. I could listen to ACDC while playing Rainbow Six? lol...If it does then....cool...

Please answer my questions...And thank you for reading my little paragraph thing lol....

Yes, when the 2.0 update comes out you can hear music while playing games(You should turn off the sound from the game in the game option or else You'll hear the background music AND the music which would sound annoying).
You will also be able to chat in-game. Like you know the XMB right? And when you press the PS button in-game, it'll say some things like Quit game, turn off PS3, or turn off controllers and stuff. It'll change to look like the XMB menu.
I can't wait!

Sony has been sending out surveys and having the xmb available during gameplay was one of the choices for the 2.0 upgrade and It had the most votes so I believe that will be in the 2.0 upgrade. From the choices they gave in regards to what we want first, it seems that they are going to have alot of really cool upgrades in the coming months.

I've heard rumors that the new 2.0 firmware download will enable the PS3 to play your own music during games and plus loads of other stuff!! Thanks a lot. I have a PS3 and I've been waiting forever to hear something about the new firmware update.

I believe 2.0 is a step in the right direction but unfortunately you cannot play your own music in games. I'm sure it is coming soon though.

I think it's already possible to listen to your own music in games but no games have actually taken advantage of this yet.
