Yes, He did wash their feet, to show them that no one is too good to be of service to their fellow human beings. He knew that He was about to be crucified and that once He was gone, they would probably start arguing about who was supposed to be in charge and what they would and wouldn't do, so He wanted to use a teachable moment to show them how it should be. He did this during the Passover, because during the original Passover, the blood of a pure lamb was used to protect the inhabitants of the households from God's death sentence. Jesus was the pure lamb who's blood protects us from an eternal death sentence. At the end of supper, he blessed bread, broke it and passed it around as a symbol of how His body would be broken for us all the next day. He then blessed wine and poured it to pass around as a symbol of how His blood would be shed for us all the next day. He wanted a reminder for all times so that we would remember that His sacrifice was a new beginning for us. This is why we, as Christians, consider the covenant He started that night to be renewed everytime we partake of communion.
That's kind of the Cliff's notes, you can read the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) for the whole thing. There are also Bible commentaries that would go into more detail.

The Last Supper is one of several major events in the earthly life of Jesus Christ that are recorded in the Bible. The Last Supper is a description of the last meal Jesus Christ had with His disciples prior to His arrest and crucifixion on a roman cross about 2,000 years ago. The Last Supper contains many significant principles, and continues to be an important part of Christian lives throughout the world.

you should check the bible for the most details, he washed their feet to show them that if you want to be first, and you have to be last, and to show them that they should serve each other, if the master servers the servant, then shouldn't the servants serve and help each others? he was basically setting an example for the disciples.

He washed feet to show that the master is the servant of all. It was symbolic as to how to teach others about the faith.
