idohomik - Simple really. Because of the people who follow and worship from that book are attempting to insert themselves into our Government and our Democractic Lifestyle. I don't like that and I along with many others believe we should keep up with it in order to fight against it. Hope this helps your understanding.

I love the whole "metaphor" "allegory" "context" you don't know how to read arguments. I have an MA in English Literature with a particular interest in Renaissance Poetry. I can read and understand John Donne. The Bible is easy by comparison.

Just off the top of my head I would say that H, I and K are the three most common. But I'm not sure about that. They're also the three that would annoy me the most, so maybe I just tend to notice them more for that reason. D, L and M seem to be rather uncommon.

Discussing the Bible with a Bible believer is like discussing the Quran with a Quran believer.

I just hear my own brain going "gadunkadunkadunkwhythehelldontyourunyoumoron..."

H.

I have been told that you cannot understand anything about the bible unless you have the holy spirit within you.

It sounds like a convenient "out" for those who do not fully comprehend it themselves.

All of the above, Its just human nature you form an opinion and you are unable to see other viewpoints. We both see the opposing view as impossible and are just unable to accept anyone can think like that.

I've heard 'em all. H may be the most common, followed by A.

The Bible of The True Christian Faith is not intended for you to understand... it is not for those not open to the leading of God, through The Holy Spirit. Only those open to God's leading... and that includes those who have not yet come to Him but who are honestly seeking... will find what God has for them in The Bible.

It matters not what "degree" one may have... one in theology could well be a hinderance to understanding God... The Bible does not prove God... it is not intended for that... but... God will prove The Bible to all who come to Him in The Way He prescribes...

there is no reason for one such as yourself to even bother with The Bible... it is not intended for you... you are not, in any way, bound, in this mortal world, by the words it contains... so why are you so concerned about it?

I get them all.

the context part is my favorite because I try my hardest to keep verses in context, and when accused of not doing so, I ask for the true meaning in context.

This usually causes them to rethink my position and re-evaluate their own.

I don't think they know what the word context means, I think they just remember what their pastor said during sermon when he was talking about those evil atheists and their damned logic!

You may be able to read the bible, but if you are
not a Christian,a real Christian, it is impossible
for you to interpret it,because the unbeliever is
blinded to the things of God.
