No idea. It seems most fundamentalists in any religion are like that. I think they only adhere to the parts they like of their religion - the part where they can judge and condemn. Which is funny, because most religions state that only God/deity is fit to judge.

first of all your stereo-typing christians so think before you speak and say "The Christian religion wouldn't be so hated if some of you people didn't go around prancing about how "this is a sin" and "you're going to hell" and "you are an immoral sinner" all the time." because im Christian and i don't say that "all the time", and in most christian/catholic faiths you are taught to forgive and don't hate anyone so i really think you should pick up a bible before you start saying all types of things about christians and the christian faith cause even though it isn't your faith you would be able to understand the christian faith more. Also your comment about the school in California how does that one group of people sum up how all christians think and believe in? Guess what, it doesn't

I can see what you mean, however, there are certain aspects here that you might not have thought about. Such as, Christians are the only ones who say " you aren't supposted do this, it is wrong" For hundreds of years Christians have been persecuted and hated because when they believe in something they enforce their beliefs, they don't try to hide anything. If something bothers them they confront the problem.
When a person tells you that you are doing something wrong [whether it be a Christian or not] it is difficult to communicate in a loving and gentle way. If someone offended you it would be hard to confront them. I am merely saying that it isn't easy for a Christian to tell someone "you offended me could you stop?" It can come off as being very snippity and arrogant, I know. But in the long run could they be right?

once again I find myself defending a religion against ignorance and people using the same hate that they are accusing the religion of using. When will people learn that "discriminating and harassing" homosexuals is not taught in Christianity, only in fringe "extremist" sects. Just like Islam isn't a violent religion.
Next time do some research and know what you're talking about before you open your mouth!

Ours is an odd alliance here because as a Christian, one would think I would be on the opposite side of this issue. In fact, I happen to agree with you, and I offer the insight that Christians, like all other people everywhere, are humans (with all the frailties and flaws this assertion implies). Being Christian means we are aware of an ideal guide for living, not that we've mastered it. And basic human nature seems to win out over spiritual edicts sometimes as folks tend to favor circumstances where others "agree" with them moreso than not. Still, I believe God created diversity for a reason; maybe part of that reason is to prompt our futher growth. Look at it this way: on this occasion an atheist and a Christian are in agreement, so anything is possible, right?

I cannot believe how intolerant you atheists are. You claim to have a monopoly on the truth, when you have no idea what happens after you die, There may be God, and won't you feel stupid. You live in a world where there is no good, no bad. People should be allowed to do whatever they want without rules, you are so busy being intolerant and you are never called out on it, but I am. I do not like the ideas of two men getting married, it is not marriage, period. Gays can live any life they want, but it is not equal to marriage. There is nothing wrong with having morals and if I offended you, too bad

Christians are charged with spreading the Word. You don't have to listen, after all not everyone will be saved, just those of us who believe in Christ.
Just turn away. That is your right. It is their right to express their views and it is your right to cross the street and MYOB.
Homosexuality is deviant behavior and Christians believe the Bible condemns it. If they wanted to harm them, they would leave them to their sodomy and let them go to hell. Instead they attempt to make them realize something is wrong with them and they should repent and turm away from their perversion.
Wanting to have sex with the same sex is deviant, just like having sex with animals or underage children. It is condemned universally and the only reason we are being conditioned to accept and tolerate homosexuals is the fact their numbers are growing and they are getting political clout.
Religiously speaking, don't do it. God wants you to start a family, and bring up decent children. He does not want you to spread diseases and kill each other from a horrible disease.

I'm a Christian and I hear you loud and clear. Let me tell you something, who ever is telling you that this is a sin or that is a sin & your going to hell and they are Christian?, they are sinning right there by judging you. It's in the bible about the whole judgement thing. No human being has the right to judge anyone. Don't let them bother you. Who is anyone to judge anyone but God.......We are all sinners all we all should recongnize our own sins than placeing judgement on others. If your not a beliver, that is free will, you have the will to believe or not belive, the choice is up to you.............

First of all, to group all people of one group together based on your experiences with a few is called bigotry. All Christians are not like this, and hate is ABSOLUTELY AGAINST the teachings of Christ, so don't get it twisted! The other thing you need to get and keep straight, is that just because someone disagrees with someone's lifestyle or behavior, doesn't mean they hate that person, it means that they disagree. I, personally think it's wrong and unChristlike to discriminate against anyone, but understand that everyone who's anti-gay isn't necessarily like that because they call themselves Christian! Hate is a human failing that goes across the board, it's not confined to any one group, or even more proevelant in one. Either way, don't lump ME in with those hateful people!

Not all christians are that way, in fact that is stero-typing all Christians right now by saying that! I am not in anyway like that and I am a Christian so long as I was Christained (or however you spell it)
I'm ok with all types of religion and I believe that people should be happy with everyones as it is not fair to bring people down with their views. Everyone is intitle to them but they do have to remember that their views have boundaries, such as racism and sexism, your views will be frowned upon if you were a racist or a sexist or even both.
My friends are gay, well two of them and they are the nicest people I have ever met. I am so proud of my friend Mitchell for admiting he was gay and putting up with the bullying at first, he was so brave and I respect that completely. I'm not much of a Christian if we are all like what you have said!

if you research the subject of religion you will realize that the Christian faith is based off of pagan religion. pagans, druids what not had their faith before the Christians and out of anger and frustration that they weren't not falling in line with the "new Christian religion", Christians made being anything but Christian illegal and would kill those that would not stop practicing their "heathen" ways. being pagan i get Christians telling me that i'm going to hell all the time. these people go as far as telling me that because i don't believe i god that my son will grow up to be a rapist and a murderer because i didn't teach him to believe in god.
