In another question I was berated for asking that the government regulate (actually ban) the wearing of tank tops. I don't understand why anyone would in the first place, to be honest, because since when is bare flesh not offensive?

I just think that shoulder length sleeves should be mandatory. It's a little something called common decency, which seems to be lacking in our country. But you may believe what you wish, I won't call you names like some people are doing to me.

You have to be cracking a joke on all of us.

Bare flesh is not offensive, since the Victorian Era ended.

Are you offended by looking at people's noses? Or their hands? Are you offended when someone wears shorts, or a skirt with no pantyhose? These are "bare flesh", but most of us don't think they're offensive. Similarly, I don't believe a bare shoulder is offensive.

I will agree that there is a place and time for bare shoulders (never in the office, etc.), and that exposed underarms can be smelly...but won't (ever) agree that bare shoulders or exposed underarms are offensive to look at.

To be honest, it sounds as if you believe we should all be wearing burkas with masks and gloves. I'm a little frightened at what you seem to think is acceptable.

Also, I don't see how it's your prerogative to be telling everyone else what they can or cannot wear. None of us is trying to do the same to you. Shoulders are not boobs...Armpits are not genitals. You need to get your priorities straight, and realize that you are in a teeny, tiny little minority who are bothered by this. Next time you're offended, please just look away, and let the rest of us move forward with our opportunity to make our own choices.

OMG, I have just looked at the rest of your questions. You SERIOUSLY need to stop making judgments on others, and start worrying about your own actions and behaviors. Or maybe move to a religious community where you won't be forced to deal with the rest of the world...this might help you be at peace a bit.

I think what you're expecting is actually extremely uncommon. It may fall into your description of decency, but you need to understand that you're in the minority, which means that your beliefs are therefore not common. What is common is to accept these (not even new) customs, and allow each person to make their own decisions about what they choose to wear.

in Florida it's hot a lot of the year and sleeveless tops are common. if you don't like it, that's your choice, but you don't have the right to tell others how to dress. the government doesn't either. personally, I don't see anything wrong with tank tops as long as they're not too low cut.

What?? Are you Amish??? Bare shoulders are a far cry from inappropriate. Big brother passes enough bans w/o this.
