Okay i have a dilemma, i cant stop thinking about a guy at work. Hes been working here for over a year and a half and we work in different departments, so i only see him at lunchtime when he is usually surrounded by people from his dept so its difficult to get him alone. I got a colleague to ask him what he thought about me last christmas at his work party, he said he thought i was stunning but he didnt know me well enough. He then joined a committee i was on so we got to spend a bit of time together over a few months, but this is now over :(
I could wimp out and ask him out by email but obviously i dont want to risk my email being seen by the IT dept and get done for harrassment! What should i do??

If you really want to risk dating a co-worker, get a group of people together for afterwork.
Send him an email--
" A bunch of us are getting together at ________ after work, would you like to join us?"

You could just keep the e-mail casual, maybe if you've seen him at lunchtime a comment about the canteen food, or something to do with the committee you were on. Then it gets you chatting without seeming at all stalker-esque! Good luck.

I think Sophie B's answer is the best it'll give you a chance to get to know and speak to him outside of work. If he likes you he will come out on the group gathering if he doesn't he won't.
