YES!! I don't have to pay for petrol, parking, stupid insurance prices and upkeep. I'm not having the thing broken into every other night, or having the whole thing stolen. I'm fit because I ride my bike or walk. And I'm happy knowing that I'm not clogging up the air. I live right by a dual carriageway and the smell and noise just isn't funny!

I don't even have a car but if I did then I would only use it if I couldn't take the train, bus, walk or ride my bike. I like knowing that I'm one of the few people out there who care about our planet. We only get one planet so we might as well take care of it as if it was our own.
And petrol prices are rising. Why waste your money on something that we got because innocents were killed in Iraq? If I don't drive then I would save a lot of money. Cars also cost a lot. Then you have to pay tax. And then there's a bunch of other problems like: idiots breaking into your car to take your gadgets, the car breaking down when you really need it, getting hit by a car or hitting a car and worse, hitting someone. I don't want to be a murderer!

In London, I didn't need a car. Public transport there is brilliant, but I didn't appreciate it until I moved out to the exurbs (look it up). Out here in the back of beyond we have a train service to and from London etc. until after midnight, but the bus to the next town finishes at 7.30pm
I would sooner live without a TV, just think of the time wasted flopped in front of the thing whilst it spouts rubbish.

I only passed my test this year (at 23!). I still don't own my own car but use my b/f's.
I find driving irritating because of the other idiots on the road and no matter where you go you are always sitting in traffic (I live in the SE).
But it is bliss in comparison with public transport. I find it really intimidating to travel alone especially in the evenings and the expense for short off peak train journeys is a joke (it costs £6.40 for me to travel a 40 minute single train journey to my b/f house and gets me there no sooner than driving it).
So in answer to your question. I find life is much better with a car especially as it has given me much more freedom.

I have personally, but I would not generalise my situation. Some people are utterly reliant on the motor car and I appreciate that because I still drive sometimes. But there are those who think they cannot do without it, although in reality they probably can - with some minor adjustments. As for me, I found that by cycling these days, I am fitter, save money, and feel better in myself.

When I have had no car I have found it quite frustrating and irritating. When I leave my car at home I do not always miss it

NO. Cars are fantastic, they dont pollute the world and make polar bears homeless, they dont menacingly kill everything attempting to cross the road and they make moving easier than when i used to catch the bus.
The car is great, leave it alone green lovers!!
