In Genesis, when you read the story of the Tower of Babel, It tells of how all the world got together for one purpose, and God scattered us all into separate nations. Why did he do that?
"And the Lord said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them." Genesis 11:6
A quote from God's own mouth. Wouldn't that mean that we could be more powerful than God if we all worked together at it?

No, he did that for the people were becoming arrogant believing they could reach the Heavens & meet God, & maybe one day think they will be above him, so he destroyed the Tower of Babel & gave Humanity different languages so that Humanity wouldn't come together against God, they were arrogant. He punished them in this sense of the way. So that Humanity will not make the same mistake twice.

No, humans will never unite as one. The Tower story only explains how languages developed and why peoples do not agree and unite.

Yes.
Even the standard Christian line answers this one. ...
God can do anything, as long as it is not evil...Satan won't let him.
However, joking aside, I wish we could really discuss this one. It's like the understanding of the guards and others standing around during the crucifixion when the challenged "if you are who you say you are, come down from the cross.."
Jeez! People!!!!!!!!!

You are kidding right? Please reread your Bible and try a Bible study with someone who studies the Bible regularly. We would not be more powerful no matter how hard we tried. The purpose of scattering everyone was to help them to learn from their mistakes, to learn to look beyond differences and love and help one another, now tell me have we accomplished that yet? I don't think so. Yet God teaches us How to love and help one another regardless of our differences and miscommunication. To have patience and forgiveness and understanding, he loves each one of us freely and without pause and wants us to follow his example and has set a way for all of us to do just that. But we have come nowhere close to where he wants us to be.

God is not afraid of Man, the " nothing will be impossible for them to do" statement was not about how powerful man would be, its about the fact that he will, given enough rope commit all manner of horrendous actions. a better translations would be " if they are allowed to do this they will stop at nothing>"

God fears no one. God created everything therefore, nothing is higher than him. As humans we should "fear" him in a hypothetical sense. God is the creator and can also do what he pleases with his creations.

God certainly wasn't scared of us. He had just sent a flood that wiped most of us out. He had no reason to be scared. He can end us at anytime.

God is not scared of anyone. He scattered the people because of disobedience. Same reason he flooded the earth.

It sure sounds like he felt threatened, doesn't it? Here he was ready and willing to jump in and eradicate our 'free will' on this matter because he didn't like the fact that we were communicating so well as a team. What kind of god DOES that?
