How about side effects? I'm not against shots in general. Should I..?

Both of my kids did. There shouldn't be any side affect, like getting the flu, since it's the inactivated vaccine. Mild problems include soreness where the shot was given, fever and aches. But my kids have never had anything worse than a spot on the leg. The nose mist is the live virus, I don't think they give that to kids.

I personally hate the drug companies and all shots. I've heard so many stores of problems. And if your child eats a good diet and you do normal prevention efforts you should not have a problem. Your child's immune system is the best protection from ALL flu bugs.

. And the flu shot is for the flu that came through LAST YEAR and they don't know what is coming. And still some of the flu shots have mercury in them. ASK you doctor if there is a preservative in the shot made from mercury. Mercury can damage the brain. I think that is why the cases of autism is so much higher. And if your child shows autism signs after taking that shot you cannot sue the drug companies because a law to that effect, was passed by adding it to the end of a bill already passed by congress, awaiting a presidential signature. (why was that done?)

But having said all that you need to follow your doctors advise.

Yes I have three children 4yrs,2yrs, and 10mnths and they all got the flu shot. My older two have been getting the flu shot since they were 10 months old and I have found it very helpful. There may be some side effects like runny nose but nothing major. They usually get it in their legs so not too much soreness.

Yes, last year and he will get it again this month. The thing about the flu shot is not only should it help a child fight the flu, but if their bodies are not fighting the flu, they may not get sick from other bacteria and viruses as well.
I find my son does really well if I give him Tylenol right before we leave for a doc appointment and then I keep giving the Tylenol every 4-6 hours for about 24 hours afterward.
Good luck and best wishes.

Manufacturers no longer put the vaccine (for children) in thimerasol. If you have any doubts, ask your ped.

all my kids have always gotten flu shots since one of them is in a high-risk category (she often ends up at the hospital just from getting a cold; I'd hate to see what the flu would do to her) and getting everybody vaccinated helps protect her. Nobody has ever had any side effects. Neither have I, other than a sore arm, and I've been getting flu shots for years and years. But you should talk to your pediatrician about risks and benefits and whether it makes sense with your family's health history for him to get it or not.

There is thimerosal in the flu shot, which is a derivative of mercury. This is highly toxic to the brain. I would avoid the shot. There are other toxins in the shot too. Also if they develop the shot from a previous stran of the virus, how can it protect for future viruses? A lot of the children that get them seem to get sick after. Not worth it. Just make sure they eat healthy, get enough sleep, drink lots of water and they should be fine. I would rather take my chances of a child getting the flu, then being injected with poisons.

My toddler and I get the shot every year-no problems. There is no research to support the notion the flu shot or any other shot causes children any problems. The current trend of folks wanting to skip shots is alarming and dangerous. You put your kids and everyone elses at risk by doing this.

Congratulations to the parents for having the flu shots given to their young children! It is good to know that there are some children who will not be giving the flu to old people who might not live through it. Thank You!

I haven't taken him in yet. I am not sure if I will get him the flu shot or not. You should know that if your toddler is 2 or more he/she can get the flu mist.
