My boyfriends family is all about documenting every moment. I have very low self esteem and hate having my picture taken. In the past I have tried to be a sport but I can no longer mentally handle it. I am not photogenic and when I see myself on film or camera I get very depressed and upset because no matter how hard I try I am just butt ugly. How can I let them know I prefer not to be photographed? They are very annoying and persistent and have not acknowledged my feelings on the matter.

Cool it girl. Your boyfriends family are just trying to be nice and inclusive. How would you feel if they just took everyone else's picture and skipped you entirely? You are not butt ugly, at lease your boyfriend does not think so. I recommend you pose causually for the camera but decline to see the pictures afterwards.

Low self esteem, i think you have NO self esteem, the photo's are not the problem, you have to work on self confidence, self belief and self acceptance. . . .there are people, books and programs that can help you with these issues.... you are a beautiful person, you just need to be shown that person
