Just wash quicker. Shave while your conditioner is setting in your hair. I think they have a new soap out that doubles as shave gel. That could save time. Take cold showers so you don't want to take it slow!
ETA: They also make a razor - Venus Breeze that has the shave gel strips at the top and the bottom - you don't have to lather up, just use the razor. I have very sensative skin when it comes to shaving and even for the bikini area this razor is great, there really is not need for shave cream/gel.

Forget about how good the warm water feels. Consider the environment. Americans waste a lot of water. There are countries where clean water is at a premium. We squander water with no thought to the environment.
I used to take 20 minute showers every day too until I read something that Jennifer Aniston said. She said that we use more water in one shower than some African families use all day for the entire family. So I started to be more conscious about how long I remained in the shower. Now I time myself. If I get in the shower at 7:45 AM, I shampoo my hair quickly (1 washing) and add conditioner right away. Then I shower the rest of my body quickly, concentrating mostly on my neck, underarms and between my legs. For the rest of my body I do a quick once over. I hose off, including my hair, thoroughly.
Now I'm down to 7 - 10 minutes in the shower. My goal is to get down to 5 minutes.

Instead of worrying about shortening the time, how about changing your shower head to a low flow shower head to use less water?
The other thing you can do to save energy is to turn down your water heater a little bit or put it on a timer.
By doing these 2 things you can save water & energy while still enjoying your shower.
I agree we all can do things to reduce waste but this whole thing about celebrities & their 3 minute showers is bogus. Give me a break! Do you think they stop using hair coloring products that are hard on the environment? Do you think they will stop going to the salon for professional blow outs? Switch to all natural makeup & stop getting all sorts of spa treatments? No way! Their looks are part of their job.
When these celebs start running around all hairy w/ flat hair & no makeup, maybe I'll listen.
As for Jennifer Aniston - if she's so worried about water resources, she needs to stop advertising "Smart Water." Bottled water = environmental waste. The water processing, the bottling process, the trasnporation, the plastic packaging, etc.

Eliminate dead time, like standing there taking time to notice how good it feels. Call them business baths. Get in, wet, shampoo, rinse, condition, wash body, shave, rinse hair, get out.

ANSWER the question posed to help the man take shorter showers. Just because you care nothing for the environment, what has that got to do with helping the man take shorter showers? Keep your selfish, stupid responses about Jennifer Aniston to yourself, Treadstone....or should I call you DEADstone.

Use a shampoo and conditioner combo which will take one step out of your list of things to do.

when you shower and wash you hair with soap, turn off your shower. as you do this, soap up your body and that way, when you rinse, you can rinse completely without wasting much water or time.
