As long as you still show your other dog affection I think it will be fine. Just don't forget about the older one when you're playing with the puppy. Try and play games that include them both. That can help them bond with each other, as well. A new puppy can be fun for your older dog, too!

Please don't adopt a puppy if you think that you will abond him/her. They are just vulnerable like babies and their behaviour as adult dog is very much depending on how they were raised..

Before you are adopting a puppy, you have to consider these followings:

1. Do you have commitment to walk the dog at least three times a day EVERYDAY and take care of the dog for the next 10 to 12 years? Remember, having a dog means that you have to stick with him/her for their life time.

2. Do you have enough patience to train puppy such as potty training, not to chewing your stuffs, separation anxiety?

3. Are you sure that you can be a good pack leader for your dog? A dog is a social pet. He/she always needs a pack leader whom he/she considered to protect him/her and be respected otherwise the dog will take that responsibility and you will be in trouble. To be a pack leader, you have to regularly train him/her and showing your authority (with your voice tones especially and never ever hit/kick the dog to show your authority!)

Those three points - I think - are the most crucial points. I hope these will help you to consider the adopting. Good luck!

If you really want a puppy get one but before you adopt take your dog to see it and see if your dog likes it. If she does play with both of them, together.

As long as you give them both enough care and love they will become friends. But, if you pay too much attention to the puppy alone then your older dog might get jealous and then you will have to walk them seperately so they each have their own time with you. But otherwise, your dog might be happier with a companion slash little brother/sister. Good luck on your choice!

Before you even consider getting a puppy, do your research. Puppies are a handful.

No dogs don't think like that just make sure you introduce the 2 properly and give them both lots of love.
