Do I bring a gift to a going away party for a girl going to school for a few months?

I don't feel you are obligated to bring one. However, just to make sure you don't feel embarrassed because everyone else did, give her a card and $20.00 or however much you can afford! If you remember when you were school age, money was a lot better than presents!

I would, but nothing extravagant. You don't say how old the girl is, or where the school is, but cash always works. Of if you think cash is too tacky, some nice stationary or a journal would be a good gift.
