I just got a reckless driving ticket cause over 100 mph on highway.

It made me appear to traffic court.

Im 22 years old male. It is my first time to get the ticket, before that I had naver gotten any tickets. and I heard it will give me 2 points and a lot of fine.

So, I am thinking about getting a lawyer.

If I get a lawyer, can I get some advantages?

Plz let me know how should I do for it.

Even the best lawyer can not get rid of evidence. You will likely end up paying your ticket and a lawyer.

Well, you have to ask yourself: Am I guilty of this, do I deserve to pay the fine and the insurance adjustment? If your answer is no, you should be able to figure out why and articulate that yourself. I went to traffic court (MA) and it was very simple. I was offered a chance to rebut the offenses charged against me. I won in my case because I was able to show that I had to do what I did, despite breaking the law.

If you were actually driving 100+ mph on the highway, endangering not only yourself but everyone else around you, then it will be hard to find sympathy from most drivers. Most will consider you a reckless driver. My advice, pay the fine, face the music, and drive safely.

If you think you are not guilty, then a lawyer might be able to reduce your sentence, but the lawyer's fees will probably offset any money you would have saved fighting the ticket.

It all depends on what you have to lose and if there is anything seriously on the line like jail, loss of license or a fine of several thousand dollars. Only then could you justify wasting valuable court resources to hear your case.

If you sped by me on the highway at that speed, I would have testified against you. Learn from your lesson and slow down.

In VA it's an automatic reckless driving AND a trip to jail for driving 100 mph or more, and a heck of a lot more than 2 points (think: revoked driver's license AND many points.) Personally, I think the judge should throw the book at you. You're a very real hazard driving at that kind of a speed and you're lucky you didn't kill yourself or someone else.

Speeding is 3 points and reckless is more...

A lawyer will cost more than the fines, but might help you save you from losing your lic,

Maybe you should slow down and drive like a normal person.

Yes you need to get a lawyer because you may be in for more trouble than you think and a lawyer could be of great help.

Or, just plead guilty and take the punishment you deserve. That is at the very least 30 mph over. (If speed limit was 70)
There is no need to go ANYWHERE that fast.

If they caught you going 100 on radar, even Johnnie Cochran would find it challengiong to get you off. Just face up to your bad judgement and take it like a man. Oh, and stop driving wrecklessly. You are going to kill someone.

Hire a lawyer only if he can have the charge and or penalty reduce. It's worth a try.
