Meat that they probably caught themselves, vegetables and homemade bread. There was no such thing as processed foods or McDonalds 1000 years ago. McDonalds only came on the scene in the late 1940's or 50's actually

They had plenty to eat, fruits, vegetables, nuts , Barrie's, and anything hey could hunt, When you have to survives you will always find something. I bet the ate very well.

Limit Fruit (and eat lots of nuts) a few exceptions such as peanuts and cashews
No Dairy ( Except butter, full fat plain yogurt)
Do not eat: Dairy (milk, cheese,) Grains or corn (maize, wheat, barley, rice, etc.)
Starchy vegetables (potatoes, yams, beets, artichokes, etc.)
Sugar (refined)
Legumes (beans, soy products, peanuts, cashew, lentils, etc.)
Chemical food additives
No juices, (no drinking food)

Fruits, vegetables, maybe wild boar, fish. Think basic...living off the land! That's what they had to do, there weren't supermarkets or butcher shops back then!

In 1007, people were eating wild animals and farm raised animals...goats, sheep, elk, deer, pigs, cows, seafood.
plants - all sorts of fruits, nuts and veggies.
