Maybe it is because the writer of Genesis wanted to tie the old stories and make them jive with the new rules and laws being handed to the Israelites?

Jt - Gensis 8:20
Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

Clean animals were defined during Moses' time, not Noah's.

Again, not a big fan of the inerrancy doctrine. It isn't needed. God doesn't need a book to explain himself.

There you go again. *Sigh* Talking sense is against the unwritten law in here. You will be marked as a heretic and damned forever henceforth. ;-)

I'd have to agree. The writers were simply trying to tie in everything to try to reinforce the laws the High Priests were giving at the time. I wouldn't think a God would contradict himself if he were trying to show the "straight and narrow"... unless he likes playing games like that with his creation, then it doesn't make much sense for him to angry when they don't follow it completely. No wonder the followers say "It's impossible to keep ALL of the laws". It seems to me that each of the books, and sometimes the different stories within those books (if you look close enough, you will find two sets of stories for Noah... how many clean animals was he supposed to take? 2 of each or 7?)... these books are written at different times, in different areas, for different types of people. Putting them together would be like taking America's laws and China's laws and putting them together and telling all of the people here to follow them completely. It would impossible.

Because those laws existed long before the time of Moses. Noah knew what they were because God had already told him. That's why he brought 7 of every clean and two of every unclean animal - God knew that they would need a food source, so he included 3 breeding pairs of every clean (edible) animal plus one sacrifice.

The concept of unclean and clean animals existed because the concept of what was allowable for sacrifice existed (Cain and Abel). It doesn't mandate Moses's doctrine in order to exist, but the principle behind it.

Jesus replaced into the top of the regulation. And there replaced into no nutritional regulation set till Moses. Noah replaced into way till now the regulation replaced into set. God sought after sparkling animals and grimy animals. massive deal! what's your factor - somewhat? That we can't consume specific issues those days. if so, consume what you opt for for and enable others consume what they choose for. God bless you!

I've thought about that. One possibility is he just brought more of the animals that people in general tended to use for food/livestock. But considering that the story is thought to be told by Moses, maybe he just slipped in some of the current thinking of his time in the retelling. Who knows!

Before writing materials and writing methods were devised, God sent verbal instructions to his Prophets through His Angel Gabriel. Instruction were few and whom God wants to, He makes them memorize permanently.

The rain lasted seven days and seven night that flooded the entire area upto the top of hills. It wasn't enough to drown all continents and animals every where. Food and rain were local. Jewish sources say Noah lived in Iraq. There are no high mountains any where in Middle East that I know. Noah took pairs of domisticated animals that they would need for milk and meat and to ride them. All other animals like lions and Tigers must have been plenty in Asia and Africa. Stories of Torah were changed over and over like Bible keep getting newer versions every few decades.

If the laws had not been given yet that meant they didn't exist yet. If God had wanted them to follow those laws at that point he would have already instructed them. So there were no unclean animals on the boat.

Um. God was speaking right to him and told him exactly what to do. Don't you think He would have told Noah which animals were clean and which weren't? LOL

How did he get the tigers into the boat? I don't suspect they like water all that much, and I'll bet Noah looked kind of tasty.
