Yes because someone is using his Social Security number and has activated his credit report. Contact the three credit reporting agencies to let them know what is going on. Even though you will not be responsible for any charges, you don't want them calling you to get in contact with your father. Good Luck!!

Yes. But it shouldn't be your problem.

His credit report should be marked, "deceased", assuming he had items on his credit when passed.

If I were in your shoes, I would get a copy of his death certificate and send a copy along with some of the pre-approved offers to all 3 credit bureaus.

Good luck

yes, contact the authorities and the issuing companies of these CC's and notify them that the person is dead.

It could most likely a ID Theft issue. Which is why I dont understand why they send those out still and even worse, activate cards of the deceased. Its clearly stated on the CR's they are dead.

It sounds like someone is using his social security number and using or trying to use his identity. You are not responsible for any of the debts. You might contact the credit bureaus and let them know what is happening.
Sorry for any emotional stress this might be causing you.

Speak with your congressman, or at least write him, it sounds like someone is using his SSN, most likely purchased by an illegal alien in order to obtain work, or someone using his identity for other reasons. Have read about this both scenarios happen. Report it before things get out of hand
