Being Orthodox, I have certainly met many "Black" Jews; many African-Americans have converted to Judaism and are attending Orthodox synagogues.
Other Black Jews come from Ethiopia, and I can assure you they read from the Torah. In fact, they have never heard of King James.
They are not the same as the Light of Israel organization, which certainly does not use KJ either, as they are Karaites: http://www.karaite-korner.org/hebrew/index.shtml
They reject the Oral Law as legally binding.
Come to think of it, no Jews use the KJ Bible. If they do and then claim to be Jewish, they are lying, or are simply and terribly misguided.
I hope this helps.

To answer one of your edits:

A 'real' Jew is anyone whose mother is Jewish, or who was born into another faith, but chose to convert to Judaism. You don't have to be orthodox to be a 'real' Jew!

EDIT TO ASKER, no, we are not a race; we are a religion, a people, and it passes down through the mother's line. So in other words yes, if the mother is Jewish, so is the child. If the father is Jewish, then the child will not be recognised as Jewish but in Reform and Progressive synagogues, which are more relaxed, they probably will. I know it's a bit confusing, hope that helps!

My husband is African American and he refers to himself as an Hebrew-Israelite. There symbol is the Star-David. The woman in my husband's family dress themselves only in dresses and skirts below the knee. They believe in the Sabbath. No activity from sundown Friday...till sundown Saturday. No graven images-his drivers license is valid without photo. They believe the New Year begins in April. There are so many things I have learned from him over the 8 years we've been together. One of the biggest misconceptions about the religion is the hostility they portray in the streets while conveying there message. Such is not the case.

As it is written, "not all who are descended from Israel are Israel...it is not the natural children who are God's children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring." All those who have come to God through the promise of Christ are the Jews spoken of in the Holy Scriptures...for as Jesus Himself foretold, "I know the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan."

People can call themselves anything they wish. Just because they say it doesn't make it so.
