auto zone can sometimes read codes.
They do not have the proper tool - to reset it.
All they can do is read the codes. They are not certified
I have a diagnosis machine that reads codes clears them and gives a printout of everything.
That is what you need - not a autozone idiot

Yes, while dis-connecting the battery will reset the codes and therefore reset the SES(Service Engine Soon) light. It'll only be a temp. fix to get the light to go out. Once the code is thrown again the light will come back on, also.
So, your best bet is to take it somewhere like AutoZone and see if, they can pull the code and see what it is that is cuz' the code to be thrown, then fix it. More then likely it's a bad O2 sensor. But, it could be one of the other many sensors, too.
Once the problem has been corrected the light will stop comin on.
Good luck!

NO reset button. You can take it to a mechanic with the proper scan tool. They can pull the code that set it off, repair the defect, and reset the light. Normally it is emissions related.
Dealer labor rates are typically 25% more than other non dealer mechanic rates.
Best wishes

The check engine light means that a fault code has been set in your vehicle computer system! You will need to have the computer scanned for codes, and depending on the cause, have the repairs made and the codes cleared! Any good shop will be able to scan the computer for codes, some auto parts stores (AutoZone for one) will do it for you for free!

Yes you can get the code cleared but it will more then likely come back on and having it cleared wont fix the problem.
