solve this riddle?

Question

Three brothers purchased a hotel room for the night. It was listed at $30, so each brother paid $10.

The manager then told the concierge that their room was discounted to $25, and that the brothers should receive a refund of $5.

The concierge realized that he could not return $5 evenly to three people, so he kept $2 and returned $1 to each brother.

After the refund, each brother has paid $9 and the concierge kept $2, which adds up to only $29 (3 x 9 = 27+2 = 29).

What happened to the other dollar?!

You are adding and subtracting the wrong numbers at the wrong points.

So, they technically pay 27 dollars (3 guys x $9), but because the bellhop took 2 of those dollars, the right amount of 25 makes it to the hotel, and they guys keep their 3 dollars, the remainder of what they paid, even though they were still supposed to pay less...

So they pay 30 at first, the hotel give them five back, so the hotel only has 25, while 3 goes back to the guys and 2 goes to the bellhop, making 30.
