how can I get to read the russian and bulgarian words in the email

Now I'm not sure this will work in your case, but you can try it : from the menu bar click View ->Encoding->Cyrillic (windows). Good luck!

I have the same problems, my e mail program does not accept Cyrillic, no matter what i do...So working around that problem, we use Latin letters to write Russian words, or you can ask them to send you the original text as an attachment in "doc" format, and open it in Microsoft Worls, also my friends uses Nero, that turns Russian text into images, also you can ask the to post the text somewhere on the web, because the browser may read it that way, providing you have all fonts installed, added, in "tools" and set the encoding on "automatic" or Cyrillic for Window (by the right click on the page and choosing the right encoding)
However the easiest way is to open the IM, somehow the text goes though Instant messenger without any problems at all...

I'm not certain, but I think it's probably because you don't have the right fonts on your computer, or they are not available to whatever you are using to access your e-mail. I have the same problem with my friends in Greece.

its not possible. without learning the cyrillic alphabet which is not hard. The following letters are the same in cyrillic as in latin:

A, K, M, O, T
The following letters are used in latin but with different sounds in english:
latin letter sound in cyrillic
B V
C S
H N
P R
X breathy sound "ch" like in "loch"
Y "oo" like in "Too"

LETTERS IN CYRILLIC NOT EXISTING IN LATIN
cant put in on line but cover the sounds in english as follows:
sound of :zh in english word "measure"
sound of F in english is greek letter Phi
sound of D in english is greek letter Delta
sound of E in english is english "e" but written like a capital
sound of G in english is greek letter Gamma
sound of I in english is letter N in english with cross bar
at different slant
sound of L in english is greek letter Lambda
sound of P in english is greek letter Pi
sound of R in english is greek letter Rho
sound of S in english is latin letter C
No W sound in russian-bulgarian
soound of Z in english is written like number 3

good luck. But if you intend to travel in bulgaria or russia, better keep your wallet in your underwear
