I just got back from Istanbul two weeks ago. I am from the USA. Never had any problems. People are very nice. Its just like going anywhere else. If someone or something seems shady, dont do it and stay in public places.

Istanbul is probably safer than London or Paris.

The only danger in Turkey is if YOU would happen to vist it.
Quit creating panic. Istanbul is the most wonderful place I have ever visited.

Istanbul is a safe place. i lived there like 6 years. I think every big cities are kind of unsafe if you are careless. If you leave your belongings unattended it might be stolen even in US and Terrorist attacks might happen in London, NY, paris also. So you should not hesitate to travel because of this reason.

I heard Saruman and his Orcs have a winter home there, and Darth Vader and all the Stormtroopers hit the beach during the summer. As long as you go in the spring or autumn, you should be okay. :D

If you're not worried about either of those threats, I think you'll be fine any time of year. :)

As I already told just couple of hours before in this section, Istanbul is only as safe as Newyork, Munchen, London etc..

I believe this question is new tool for trolls of this section...

Who says that? Bring me that uneducated bast... i will make him visit Istanbul and he/she will apologize for the false accusations at the end of her/his stay.
Istanbul is one of the securest metropoles of the world.
I really can't stand those uneducated, uncultured, biased, stupid people who tend to make false comments like this. Moreover i pity them because they really have small brains.

I was just there in September and had no problems. It's a very Muslim country, but people are nice and welcoming to tourists. It was safe for me. The traffic was real heavy though. As any place you go, there are certain things you should watch out for, and just use your head and don't do anything dumb!

It gets a lot of israeli tourism but I don't think they are actually dangerous when they are on vacation. That's just back in palestine where they like to spray kids with lead.
