What is the shelf life of an opened bottle of Tequila?

No alcoholics in the house. We don't drink often, the question was what is the shelf life, not how long will it last..

I always thought the answer was "virtually forever," given the alcohol content of such a strong drink. The website listed below gives a good run-down of how to store alcohol and how to tell if it's bad. Basically, like people say, store it in a cool, dark place with the lid on tight. Having opened it already won't affect it that much, but with time, it might take the kick out of it (though I don't think rot is something to worry about).

And this is all good news because that bottle of tequila I bought my mom is always there on the shelf at her house, untouched except by me when I come to visit.

As long as it doesn't dry out alcohol doesn't have an expiration date. Many even mature and improve in taste when left to age.
